Just a guess but maybe Adams???

Recent eBay purchase, I really liked the design.

8 Points (4 high 4 low) with MOP dot on each large one. Neat ring work. Not sure what you call the MOP shape on the butt sleeve... a cog? Pin is 5/16" x 18.

My vote for Adams/Helmstetter with a very small chance that it might be a very early Viking.

The pin looks early Adam but nothing else about it strikes me as Adam really. Possible, but I don't know.

I guess early Viking is possible as well, they can be difficult to ID.

Fancy, but lower end. I don't think it's Helmestetter of any type, Adam or actual early Helmstetter build.

It is very unique so maybe somebody has it in a catalog?

I'm not sire but am leaning away from Adam.

I believe it to be a "knockoff" Adam cue. I haven't seen the backend flush like that on any real Adam. Definately made to have an Adam feel about it. Probably made in the late 70's.

Yea, that butt cap/bumper arrangement really does not look Adam. Generally only very low end cues have a flush end like that and no weight bolt.

Adam, though Asian, is not and has never been IMHO a very low end cue. It could be made to look Adam-ish or even be a direct knock-off. If it is a knock off, I don't know of what model.

I do "collect" some very low end stuff for cheap thrills, and this is one I watched and passed up on Ebay. It's even lower end than my stuff I think.....which is the old Cobra/Mizerak line and their cousins.

If you look at the shaft it looks like it begins tapering from the tip or shortly after as well. Even my Cobras and Mizeraks have a "pro" taper. Adams, unless they are specifically billiards cues, have a "pro" type taper.

I really don't know on this one except to say what I think it is not. It could be one of the Elton brand cues. They made some that very much resemble this work.

Sorry for the delay, I'm in the middle of moving.

Oh, well. They can't all be gems. I still like it though, I also have a few odd ball imports in the collection.

Chris,

Butt: 28 1/8" not including screw
Shaft: 29". Not including pilot

They're all gems.

Looks like cueman might have an idea since he asked for something specific. Maybe he'll ID it.
