League Play

I hate it... Too many "Napoleon" complexes. Ya got some folks that take it WAY too seriously...

With that said, I decided to play "league" this year. I don't want to join the best team in the "league"...I want to beat the best team in the "league". And I ain't gonna join the second or third placed team...I'm gonna join a cellar dweller.

The top teams in the "league" are handpicked..where-ever you reside... I hate show-boating. .U R "supposed" to win...

I know it's off topic...I'm talking darts.

I like my league. This is my first year playing, but I'm having a lot of fun. However, I attribute that to two things. First, the folks on my team can really have fun, but can also get down to business when needed. Secondly, I think you're right that it's better not to be on the best team. We're underdog's, and it's more fun to upset the big boys than be expected to win all the time.

I am a beginner that will be starting my second session of APA next monday night. I personally am having a blast. Girlfriend, ehhhh, maybe not so much....
I love the competition, but I think I'd prefer the BCA format a little better getting to play more often rather that waiting all night to play one match or not play at all. I just will get a little better before I join BCA. It's kinda tough to stack a team in APA so ya I guess the sand bagging comes into play.
Staying out so late is kind of tough since i get up pretty early for the day job. I pretty much knew everyone on the team already, but am getting to meet more shooters for sure and visit a few other bars, I'd never have gone to.
I'm not sure if it's league or just competing, but I love it. Cant wait for monday night. I enjoy looking at the standings all over again after each week. Analyzing the other team member by member..LOL, kinda extreme I guess, but I enjoy it.
