I've got a nice Richard Black cue nearly 30 years old now. It hits and plays super solid but has some small joint and handle sizes. I was told it was sent back to RB at some point to have a cracked joint (ivory) fixed and a refinish.
When you roll the butt, there is a little bit of lift at the joint but with all three shafts attached the cue rolls nice - no tips leave the table.
Any thoughts about what might have happened to this cue or do you think it was made with these specs?
Piloted ivory joint .790" - all joint collars match up nicely. All 3 shafts are full 13mm with ivory ferrules.
Handle size at top of wrap is just under 1" @.990, bottom of wrap is 1.20" and @ bottom of butt cap it's 1.240"
Cue has a nice 19.0" balance.
Is this an acceptable joint size?
Thanks in advance for your comments....Bob Farr
