Wrap

I'm starting to make some plans to let someone make a new cue. What I've been thinking a lot about lately is, what kind of wrap to put on it. So I thought it could be a great idea to get some feedback from you here at AZB.
Have anyone here had the oppertunity to try the following so you can compare: Ringtail Lizard, Sharkskin, Stingray and Elephant ear.
I have tried Elephant ear and consider it as a bit hard and slightly slippery and ringtail soft and almost a bit sticky. I was hoping that someone with that info as referens could help me out a bit.

Wraps

I think Lizard is too slippery. I like just a good leather, but I did like Stingray when I stroked a few balls with a cue that had it. Have never hit a few with a cue that had Elephant ear on it, but saw once where it is nearly $400 to put elephant ear on a cue.

Are you sure the lizard was genuine and not print? To me real lizard has a luxurious smoothness that I don't find matched in any other wrap. My hands don't sweat though, and on some shots I like to let the cue slide a bit in my grip hand.

I love the look of stingray and my wallet and business card holder are made from it. I don't think I'd enjoy it on a cue, but the texture certainly won't slip.

Sharkskin has a really nice soft feel, I'm surprised I don't see more cues with it.

I've been curious myself about kangaroo, but I'm afraid I don't have any experience with it.

I think pressed leather is best for various reasons. Would last longest with minimal care, great feel, looks as good as exotic skins, it's tough and can take some abuse without damage, and by far the most inexpensive. Probably easier to work with for the cue-maker. You can get it in a whole variety of patterns and colors.

I prefer a leather or Lizard wrap. My lizard wraps don't have as much cushion as my leather wraps but I like them both.

If this is purely a feel question and you are very sensitive in this regard you really need to see samples in person. I've had materials of all these types come in quite an array of variation. Even from the same supplier often times.
