Kamui Chalk discussion

Hell, the holy grail is out now... I have all the above (kamui chalk is on the way) so I gotta get me a lomax shaft and bender cue now and I'll be in the money some day!

Wait, wait, wait! I also have just installed a Kamui Black Soft tip after using the Super Soft for one lifetime of a tip and find the soft "better". Don't ask me how better! Just go put one on your new Lomax cue. :D:D:D

BTW, I save some of the "SECRETS" for the commentary. When I do well, I will reveal more. More, means more money. :D:p:D

Thanks for "getting" my humor and appreciation for different pieces of equipment.

Best regards,

It's a good product. It's either you have the money and willing to pay for it or you don't. No need to bash the price. People don't bash Mercedes/Bmw for what they charge.

I normally use Blue Diamond but at the DCC I found a piece of Kamui on the floor. Yes, of course I tried it and bought another piece for a spare.

Kamui seems to allow more spin with less offset. But there are other features I really like: 1. You don't chalk as often and therefore get less chalk on your hands. 2. There is less chalk dust on the table and rails. 3. People who use Kamui usually don't set it upside down on the table. They just seem to have more class.

Good points fo shizzle!

One of the things I have noticed with the Kamui chalk, If you forget to take it and use normal chalk, it is not the same.
Normal chalk you end up with dirty hands and does not stay on the tip as long.

Hey, do you remember me mentioning in any of the Kamui chalk threads that there was no way on earth I was ever spending $25 on a piece of chalk?

Well, it just so happened that a fellow repairman 500 miles away from me was selling some of it.

When it gets here, hopefully this coming week, I will be also putting it thru the grind.

Oh God, how can I ever forgive myself for doing this.

No I didn't, but I did notice some blue blemishes on the cue ball. I think it would be prudent to wipe the cue ball after each rack with a clean cloth just to be on the safe side.

That's kinda interesting.. would more kamui chalk on the CB lend to more skidding?

Good luck at the tournament.

I'm clocked out - have a good weekend!

joey i guess you have no idea what time you maybe on the stream eh?

No, not really. The Calcutta probably won't get over with until 2:00 pm so it could be anytime after that and maybe not at all. If I don't win some matches no one will want to see me play. :p

Don't be so hard on yourself. When you start firing those balls in the hole using gargantuan side spin and you never miss a ball or miscue, you will be able to find solace in that alone. :D

When I recently started using the custom cue I had made (after using a Meucci black-dot shaft for a long time) I found that the overall qualities of the new cue contributed to moving the cue ball a LOT more than I was used to for a given tip offset and stroke on the cue ball. I still have not figured out how to harness all of that extra juice...
What the hell would I do with Kamui chalk amplifying all of that spin? It's not that I'm against the price so much (I'll win or lose more than $25 in a flash) and if it bridges a gap in my game, all the better. I'm just wondering how anyone can adjust to using it if it's truly all the things that everyone reviewing it has claimed?

Good luck in the tournament!

I haven't tried my signature shot yet and it may be a week before I do so. I'm still kind of baffled and excited at the possibility of lower cue ball deflection because of chalk.

I have to keep the chalk in my pocket when I hit balls at home because, otherwise, my 4yo thinks it's hilarious to come running by and either steal the chalk or knock it onto the floor. I use Masters at home and, with the fact that I have to hide the chalk in my pocket, I end up going several shots between chalking some times out of pure laziness of not wanting to dip into my pocket after every shot. I can honestly say that I almost never miscue doing that. I can't say that I NEVER miscue because I'm sure that I have, but I really can't remember the last time that I did while going several shots between chalking.

Of course, I wouldn't do that if I were actually playing anyone, but it does stand to reason that, perhaps, Masters isn't the terribly inferior product that it's been made out to be over the last few years.

I can't speak on Kamui chalk from experience because I'm not going to send in $30 on a piece of chalk and no one likes me enough to give me a cube so, at least for now, I'll have to just take the word of others who use it. :D

Ha ha
Youre going to love it Terry!

Not a single person that I've sold chalk to has had a bad thing to say about it :)

I'm sold on it for sure

For the record the cheap ass ugly ass wrapper on my K-chalk came off. I wrapped some green vinyl tape around it and it's good now.

For this price they could invest in a better wrapper and some good glue. Comes in a custom ziplock bag so why not spend a tiny bit more to protect the chalk when it's not in the bag.

Hell is icing up right now. :-)

Master's chalk is good chalk. I seldom miscue with it.

But if you could actually shoot a little straighter than you already do, would you part with the $30?

I agree the wrapper could stand an upgrade. :)

I don't buy the lower deflection claim. I think that MAYBE there is a little more grip on the ball but I don't know that this actually translates to lower deflection.

So until I see some proof I think Kamui should drop the claims of lower deflection.

I don't think that it make me shoot straighter. But I did use it playing one hole for 8 hours and actually it was quite nice to only rack once or twice a game.
