Had another great year at the SBE. Tons of laughter, the best stories, parties, an overwhelming amount of cues & cases, non~stop pool, and of course, the best people and characters you could imagine. Thanks to everyone for making this long weekend a fantastic memory.

So, for the most part, the event is divided into 4 arenas: The tournament arena, the action/challenge table arena, the vendor arena, and the pro arena.

Some people come to just play pool, some just for the vendors, but I like to get in as much of all of it as I can.
Seriously, if you think you're going to get a full nights sleep.. you've never been to SBE.

Some of the tournament players area:

This is one of the many things I love about pool. Pro player Robin Dodson teaching an up and comer. What a classy woman and a great asset to the sport:

Ok, so I have to admit I'm not ashamed to stop people and make them let me take pics of their cases. :D

FourkingsKenny stole the vendor show this year though. What a once and a lifetime opportunity to hang out with Barry and Jimmy Szamboti all weekend. Talk about meeting the big guns! Thank you Kenny!

And congrats again to Pete Tonkin for winning the People's Choice Award again. He's a genius, great guy, and has the best family support.

and finally, in closing..

If you've never been to the SBE it's an incredible experience. Make the trip to come support all these amazing craftsman, players, and vendors.
I promise you'll have a ton of fun and you may even make some friends for life. Because that's really what it's all about.

Thanks El Beau for rooming with me again this year.
And thanks for saving my life buddy. :D

One last note:
As Beau and I were walking into the venue for the last time on Sunday he had a Szamboti poster that he got from Art Cantando's estate that Art had hanging in his shop.
Beau looked down and noticed the shipping label on the tube that was still in tact..

Sent from Doug Baltrip to Art Cantando.

RIP to two legends. While you couldn't be there with us.. you were not forgotten.
So yeah, support pool and you may just make some friends for life. Pool is so much more than just a sport.

Thanks for the pictures Rex! Man that Mickey really gets around, he's in every set of pictures I've seen posted, looks like his ear healed up just in time.
