14.1 instructional books?

I don't get out to play much of any kind of pool these days, but when I do (such as last night, and unless there is a snooker table), I'm only interested in 14.1. Most immediate problem: I can pocket balls, but my 'patterns' look more like Rorschach blotches. I find myself moving the cue ball up and down table frequently, and this no doubt contributes to getting out of position. I haven't found anyone locally yet to practice with, so a good starter book on some drills and theory behind the game seems appropriate. Any suggestions?

Search on YouTube for David Sapolis' 14.1 videos. David has helped many people with their 14.1 game. I know he's helped me alot.

Dave S has posted some great 14.1 stuff here on az and on youtube. It is a shame he did not finish his book.
If you ever get to New York look up Stu Montanna, Dan Bourouty, or Steve Lipsky. If they can't help you no one can.

Add Phil Cappelle to the list of straight pool resources in New York City.

Capelle's new book on break shot patterns is great. The DVD included really shows how these people play the patterns right and what to look for.
