Do You Ridgeback Rails On Your Valley?

Who has Ridgeback rails on their Valley tables or play on tables that do? If so how much tougher is it to play on than the standard Valley rails IYO? If the pockets have been tightened too, what are they now from the standard 4 1/2" corners and 5" sides. Thank you. Johnnyt

As far as the rails be tougher, I think they react truer than they did before. The extended shelves sure make it play tougher. You make it, or you miss it. There's no missing it but it goes in anyways.

Yes, I've seen pictures of your table. That has to be one of the toughest Valley's anywhere. Johnnyt
 
I play on them several times a week. The pocket size is standard 4 3/4 and 5 1/4. 4 1/2 would have been better. I think they will make whatever you want as far as pocket size.

They were new about a year ago and are holding up great. I love them. Much more predictable than stock. They also quiet down the dreaded Valley thump!

I wonder why they put Ridgebacks on and opened the pockets 1/4" more than a stock Valley? Johnnyt
 
Kerry custom made me some for my 8' Global bar box. They play great with the 4 1/2' pockets. I had some on my old Dynamo and always recommend them to customers who want new rails on their bar boxes. Putting some on a guy's Valley next week by the way. I love em'.

I ordered some rails for my 7' valley. They have 4 1/2 pockets both ends and sides. When I ordered them I was told it might take longer to get the slightly tighter pockets because they did not have any made up at that time. They have to shut down the standard production line in order to make the slightly over length rails for tighter pockets. I dont believe they just add a thicker pad on the end of the rails but make a longer rail. I am happy with my table and the rails are quite true. Sometime in the future I may consider tighter pockets but for now they are great. As a test I ordered a package of Practice Pro pocket reducers. They are a spring with tapered rubber feet that narrow the pocket to 3" on my table. I have mostly used them on just the end rails and tried to shoot the ball in the center of the pocket to improve my aim/stroke. They are really too narrow for me to play a game at this time and I think I need to practice with the standard pocket and shoot center pocket each and every shot. That skill would transfer to other tables. I think you would be happy with Ridgeback rails and Kerry is very helpful. JJ

Seeing as how this is the 9th separate thread JohnnyT has started about ridgeback rails, I don't think he actually has any more questions about the product.

I in no way make any money or get any discount on the Ridgebacks from Kerry. I just know they do wonders for a Valley (and i'm sure Global and others) making them play so much better. With all the the Valley's out there I just want to let people know there is an option to make them play better instead of complaining about how easy they are. Johnnyt
