Is Qmasters in VA the oldest or one of the, in USA? I think since 1970s.

it chnaged locations and not original .

What are the oldest rooms in usa/world that are still in business? so many hav closed down.
And real old rooms that are still in original location?

Columbia Road Billiards

Hate to cite my own website Roadhustler.com but I think it's probably Columbia Road Billiards in Dorchester Ma. It was Opened by the current owners Grand Father in 1931 in that same location. They actually have a bowing alley upstairs that was built before ball returns were common and closed because they lacked the funding to install a return system Sealed like a time capsule. It isn't fancy but you can feel the ghosts of hustlers long past in that room.

Btw I am sorry to anyone who hoped I would spend more time updating my site I get a little wrapped up in Life. being a good dad, running local pool tournaments, work ect. I haven't given up on it and I will get back to it thanks to anyone who reads it .

The Metropolitan Billiard Parlor opened here in Morgantown WV in 1924 and has been opened ever since!

I certainly don't know of any that old, but its still interesting to hear of old joints, even if they are only 20 or more, years old..Don't stop because MFats knows of the oldest one, so far...Keep'em coming...Its not a contest..;)

There have been so many of the old 60 and 70's action rooms close in the last 5 years that there are not many old rooms left out there. Bakers in Tampa closed a few years ago as did many old rooms in the larger cities. Johnnyt

Oak Park billiards in windy city is full of arcades and klinges and neat walls lined with seating with footrest and turnstile cue racks takes you back in time . was1920s or earlier.

About Smith's Billiards, up until just a few years ago was the longest continuously run pool hall in the world. But, alas no more. It stopped running for a few months and then restarted with new owners.

Still, this year, Smith's will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

I think you mean its 110th anniversary. I'm gonna go to the Starbucks and get some coffee. I'll get you a cup.

Boston Bowl has been around since the 50s I think... if those walls could talk 24 hour action spot would have plenty of great stories.

I heard a funny story about Boston Bowl recently. Some time agoThey had to lock up the building one night due to renovations. No one could find the keys because the doors had just been open for years:D

In fact someone ought to research great pool rooms of eras gone bye. before everyone dies off that played in those rooms in the hayday.

Boston Bowl, 7-11 in NY, The rack in Detroit, Jack and Jills and what ever other great rooms in the US. Would be a fun read.

So I've been looking around for some rooms in MA to try, and those two were not listed anywhere on sites that I can find.

How are Smith's and Columbia Road? Are they filled with people that use the tables as another rest for their beer and as chairs?

Percy's Pool Parlor

The man in my avatar has been coming to the same room since 1945... I'm not sure how old the place is but he tells me it has been here in the "same" location longer than he's been coming here... It's a true old school pool room...

1--5x10 snooker table
1--GC III
5--A.E. Schmidt 8'ers
1--Diamond Pro Am 7'er
1--Diamond Pro Am 9'er

Definitely not the oldest, but as far as old school action rooms, The Jointed Cue is definitely one of the best on the West Coast. Just looking at the pictures on the wall of that place is like walking through history.

Hollywood Billiards

Until it's demise, a couple year's ago, Hollywood Billiards (Los Angeles) was a 100 year old pool room in it's 2nd location (formerly at Hollywood Blvd/Western).

I lived walking distance from Oak Park Billiards from1978/1980.

Romine's High Pockets Milwaukee, WI

Has to be 40/50 years old or more.

I will try and get some pics of the "Met" this weekend. This place has the old time pool room feel. Concrete floors, 10 old Sanuier Wilhelm tables from the 20's. old decor. Cheap beer and snacks, Use to be great action there when Bill Bonfili was the owner. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. Every one called him Ruby. He was the real draw there. Everyone came to see him. He smoked big cigars and chewed mail pouch tobacco and played gin with the best of em. He would always start a ring game or play bank pool. And he showed me at 15 a lot about the game. His son Bill Jr runs it now but its not the same. Still does great business with the college kids at WVU
