I don't know or care who the "best" is tournament-wise. I watch them play and judge from that. Just like anyone does in a pool hall routinely. I've watched Fu Xiao Fang recently and like her play:
Fu Xiao-Fang vs. Chen Si-Meng at 2011 World 9-Ball China Open

I've already posted this further up this thread or the other 'female player' thread.
So are you going to watch this and tell me how bad she is and how Mr. X could beat her hands down? Compare her here to some of the American players at the last Mosconi cup and it's embarrassing for male American players.
I an living in China and see these ladies play often but not sure who would be called the "best" on any given day. Xiao Ting, Fu Xiao Fang, Chen Si Ming and Liu Sha Sha from China are all very strong as are Kim Ga Young and Yu Ram Cha from Korea and several of the Taiwan players. On any given day any can beat the others. They all regularly practice and compete with male pros in Asia so there is no "fear" or intimidation when playing against the men. All of their coaches are male pros.
What amazes me on this thread is that people are expressing very strong opinions and then admitting they have never watched these ladies play. Seems like a "macho" opinion with no facts.
In a match between a top lady and top man, I don't know who would win, but think it would be competitive.
I invite you to watch this match from this years Amway cup in Taiwan and then tell me that on that day at least, Tsai Pei Chen would not be "competitive" against a top male pro. I am sure she would be happy with the 7 and the break.
