Archer/Bustamante Updates???

I'm at work, any updates?

Table is a mess with all the powder they're using. Balls not breaking well.

Johnny on a three game rush. Dry break. Balls aren't racking well in the Magic Rack now at the end of this set.

23-17 Busty.

Hmmm...I wonder who is favored under these Filipino-like conditions?

Balls not spread well. Busty has played a couple of loose shots (playing with the lead). Tries a decent shot (draw the cueball of a ball and into tough 10-ball cut near the pocket). Hangs the 10-ball.

Archer dogs a shot (third or fourth in the latter half of the set) but doesn't leave a shot. 10-ball still hanging.

Back and forth without sellouts (nothing is a sellout on this table).

Johnny on the head rail long tough 5-ball... fires it in and gets out. That's four games in a row for Johnny. Bustamante had a 10 game rush earlier.

23-18 Busty

Archer has already changed his break spot and now has no idea where he's breaking from. Gone back to that spot to the left of the spot 5". Last time, the balls didn't break at all. Much better this time... 3 balls on the break.

Too firm on a shot just when Johnny looked in full control. Recovers and finishes the break and run.

23-19 Busty

Breaking from the same spot to the left of the head spot... JA makes a ball and the cueball gets kicked to the foot of the table (lower right) with the one virtually hanging in the upper left. Should have been a picture perfect break, but instead shot one is a blood tester. Rolls it in and leaves a lock safety on the 2-ball. There was no chance for him to play position for it.

Bustamante takes a break. Archer leaned over and ripped his pants. I hope it doesn't bother him. He's now talking about other pros wearing Superman Underoos....

Stay tuned. Johnny is pretty loose right now.

Still 23-19.

Johnny is describing how he adjusted his break. And it sounds like he's talking about the bounce factor.

He just told Busty to remember to turn his microphone off when he goes to the bathroom.

Archer now dancing. He's definitely white.

Back to the action.

Busty makes a hit on the 2-ball. Leaves a look, Johnny should be ducking, but playing a two-way bank. Leaves a full face, and Bustamante ducks well. Archer back to singing. No dancing, but hard kicking. Makes hit and leaves a long spear for the 2-ball. Francisco obliges and gets perfect on the 3-ball.

Bustamante still a bit loose as he really hasn't seen a decent thing to shoot out for quite some time. Rack looks tougher than it should ... but he gets out.

24-19 Bustamante on the hill!!!

Another humongous break by Francisco with a hanging 1-ball, three balls down on the break. Balls all in the center of the table.

Mistake on the first shot leaving a difficult 2-ball. Fires it in but no real easy shot on the 3-ball.

Thins the 3-ball and lets the cueball fly around the table and gets on the next ball!

Francisco runs out from there to end the set!!!

25-19 Francisco

He leads 1-0.!!!

See you all tomorrow.

Thanx, Freddie...I can go home now to a REAL computer.
I rarely root against Busty....
..but I like the way JA is mellowing..he's gonna make a fine elder statesman
and do some good for the game.

Thank you very much for the updates Fred. You should be a writer, maybe have your own column or something :)

I'm off tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to watch.
