Difference between Mezz Hybrid Pro (old version) and the Hybrid Alpha

Does anyone know the difference in feel, deflection etc. between the Mezz Hybrid Pro (old one) and the new Mezz Hybrid Alpha. The say that the Hybrid Alpha is the next generation Hybrid pro's. I want to buy a Mezz cue and I shot with the old Hybrid Pro of a friend and I liked this shaft very much (it was on an Axi with the Wavy joint).

I was wondering how much the Alpha differs from the old Pro.

the ferrule material on the alpha is softer than the alpha. the taper's a little different and i think they didn't run the carbon fiber rod as high up in the alpha because it's got a little more flex than the HP1.

Thanks! Do you know the difference in case of deflection between the two shafts? Is it true that the taper differs in diameter? I saw that the Alpha has a 12.8 diameter.

I haven't used a Hybrid Pro but I have been playing with a Hybrid Alpha for the last couple months. I was actually surprised at the low deflection. It isn't advertised as being low deflection but sure enough I was putting on the spin and watching the cue ball go nice and straight. It seems to have a nice solid hit. If anything it feels dampened. No *ting* when you hit the ball.

i wanna say yeah it does have sort of a dampned hit. imo the WD700 is too whippy. but some people like that sorty of thing. it's stiffer than a meucci but not as stiff as a new 314

I have exactly the same view with yours. WD700 is whippy and not as stiff as 314-2. I haven't used Hybrid Alpha yet so I have no idea how it hits in compare with WD700. Can poolplayer2093 shed me some lights?

The Mezz Alpha is stiffer than the WD700. It has a little more deflection but you can offset that because it works very well with backhand english. The shaft and taper is a little thicker compared to the WD700.

I like both shafts but definitely prefer the Alpha. The increase in stiffness gives me better control and feel for the CB. It also seems to be a little more forgiving. In comparison, my stroke needs to be more precise when I use the WD700.
