Hello everyone :)

I am setting up a billiards league at a place I work at.

The establishment is looking to do 5 different leagues, M-F. Wednesday has 2 nights.

Each league will have 4 teams, consisting of 2 players each.

All leagues are 8-Ball, except for 2 of them which are 9-Ball.

With little knowledge of billiards, could someone help me out in setting this up.

I know each league will be $10 a night per player and the league will run 12 weeks.

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you!

I would try to use BCA rules as much as possible.

I think you could even set up a BCA sanctioned league http://www.playbca.com/

Do you know any local players who know about leagues and are trustworthy?

As far as setting up your own in-house,independent pool league, this takes a bit of work. What format to use depends on what other leagues are in your area and what type of players you want to play in your league. You have to decide whether you want payouts or not and if you want individual or team payouts. There is a lot that goes into it and if you are not familiar with pool leagues it won't be easy. Also one you set up the league and get the players there is alot of work in running it.

Good luck! You are taking on a sometimes frustrating (though rewarding) job!
Contact BCAPL or ACS for help, and perhaps find someone near you who has experience and can help you avoid the typical pitfalls of starting a league.
One piece of advice: Create a set of league by-laws that cover all problems and situations. (I've been organizing, directing and/or playing in pool leagues since 1966.)
