Just finished reading this book and my sides are still hurting from laughing. Alfie will crack you up with his clever writing style about life on the road. I'll guarantee it will make you feel like James Brown. :)

Alfie's booth was next to ours at the 8-Ball Championships in Vegas and I will tell you first hand that he is one of the nicest guys you will ever want to meet.

Get the book. You won't regret it.http://www.alftaylor.com

I second that opinion. I read the book a month or so ago and found it rather entertaining. In addition, I could relate to many of the stories and could actually picture and sort of experience what was going on.

Great read - well worth it!

By the way, I am still waiting on a practice session with Mr Taylor. Have cue - will travel!

I just finished reading his book a couple of days ago and highly recommend it to those that love reading pool war stories. It is one of the best written books that I've read in a good while.
As the stories you're reading unfold you almost feel like you're there in the scene. Alf met and traveled with many legends of pool and has many stories about them.
It's an interesting thing is to see what an individual will endure to be in the world that facinates them.
I met Alfie Taylor last May in Las Veges and found him to be very friendly and likable. You meet him and you can immediatly call him your friend. Thank you Mr. Taylor for the look into what road warriors go through.

Jack,

How do we know that you have a good sense of humor, to make this recommendation?

Maybe you should have had Toots make the recommendation; she must have a great sense of humor, she married you?

Eric >buying the book now

Add me to the list of those who enjoyed reading the book...

I still chuckle thinking of the stunt Alf pulled on Grady...

I had a chance to finish reading it. Great read! Some of the war stories were funny and gritty.

Good recommendation, Jack.
