The original Old School Pool Seminar will resume once again, sans our old pal, Grady Mathews, at 9 am-12, Monday July 23rd. His place in the One Pocket section of the seminar will be taken by another One Pocket Hall of Famer, Billy Incardona. A knowledgeable man indeed. The other two usuals will be myself in the Bank pool category, and BCA and One Pocket Hall of famer, Danny Di Liberto schooling us all on 14.1. Danny is recovering nicely from a terrible car accident earlier in the year.

It will be a 3 hour session, with one hour devoted to each of the 3 disciplines.
The cost will be $100 per person. The class will be limited in size so make your reservation early. The price on the day of the class if there are still openings will be $115. You can reserve your spot with myself, Billy or Danny.

Crazy question.

What's the format like?

As in, is this a sit-down seminar with slides, or whatever, kinda deal or are we all going to be crowded around a couple of tables with you guys showing us hands-on stuff?

Is this instructional, pool stories or a mixture of both?

Just curious. Sounds like a fun 3 hours either way.

Sorry, no slides. There will be "crowding around a table showing you hands-on stuff." Also, "instructional, pool stories and a mixture of both."

Sounds perfect! I just wish we could roll back time to allow Grady to be there. I was never able to meet him, sadly. :(

Looking forward to Tunica even more than I was before!
 
I attended the one at DCC. It was worth every penny. And at the end I had my photo with the champions.
 
I really don't know what the format was for the seminar the last couple of years. Every one has their way of teaching, but one pocket is a game where there is so much to learn it's crazy to think that in an hour that the students will benefit to their satisfaction. But I guarantee that during my one hour segment every one will leave happy. Pay your $100 and find out what i'm talking about.

Freddy, one pocket as opposed to both banks and straight pool in terms of learning the game there's so much more to learn playing one pocket. My point is that the students will be happy with the 1 hr. one pocket segment when you consider there's only an hr. to take advantage of, in a game with so much to learn about in terms of the method I will be teaching.

Hell I can lose that in any of the above at $20 a game in 30 minutes:grin:

I would not like any one to misinterpret the implication in the above post, it was directed only to the difficulty of learning the three games, which I replied on in another thread. Below is a more comprehensive explanation. Thank you.


Please trust me on this, i've endorsed many times the knowledge both you and Danny are gifted with, and my intentions, not at any time were meant to devalue either of your credentials as the games premier analyst. But what I am guilty of is implying that one pocket is the most interesting game, and one with the most decision making over any other pool game played on a pool table. Which imo would take a longer time for anyone, and every one to really figure it out. AND I GOT AN HR.

Hopefully you now understand my implications.
