Clear Break Ferrule ?!

OK, now I may have come close to seeing everything. I saw a ferrule on a break cue that was clear, maybe a polycarbonate type material, and it had a fibre pad under the tip to protect the ferrule?!

Maybe Im just sleep depraved but seems like if you need a pad to protect the ferrule on a break cue then maybe try another ferrule material? The one Im speaking of had cracked and needing replacing. Now for the sixth cup of coffee :thud::banghead:

Absolutely, this was not G-10, this was perfectly clear, kinda like lucite, but I dont think it was. Nope crystal clear and cracked in this case.

as a guy with a lathe, you prob know that one can use damn near whatever he want to use, for a ferrule.

I agree with you in the case you shared: that was a poor choice of ferrule material!

It is a thermosetting industrial laminate consisting of a continuous filament glass cloth material with an epoxy resin binder, duh!:wink::grin:
