Black Boar feeler

Correct

I don't know any 6 point BB selling for 3500!!! There are so few and so few that have the original boars head emblem. Tony does not do that any more!!! It is a super rare cue if untouched.

The tooling to make 6 point cues is much different then 8 point cues. Tony made the switch and indicated he is not changing back. the few 6 pointers are all that will exist from what I heard but he could change his mind.

Given a soft market i would say 7000 if untouched!!! A basic 8 pointer was for sale at omega for 12000 and had NO RECUT POINTS like this one. Those colors are not veneers they are recut points and a TON of work.

Counting recuts it has 12 points more than most 8 pointers done now.

You are correct on all your points, including a 6ptr with the old logo.I have several of Tony's cues including one 6ptr. with the old logo. I showed it to Tony and asked him if he could change the logo to a new one and he said that would be easy but it would be a big mistake on my part for the reasons you just stated.

well maybe not 3500 but I have seen more than 1 in 5k range infact one had many inlays and 5 shafts 2 of them ferreless it was the newer design ,, the style shown here is not near the hitting cue as his latter design

The cue is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. IMHO its not worth a whole lot since it has been altered. Ive seen BB 6 pointers go from a low of $4200-$20000 but all orriginal or all that have had additions done by Tony. I think any cue that has been altered by anyone other than the builder is worthless, just my opinion.

All Original?

If it were one of Tonys newer cues I would agree. The Mataya BB, which was a 6 pointer as well, was being sold for 4500. It was all original, owned, signed and played by one of the all times biggest names in pool. So I stand by my original appraisal, with 2 BB shafts and all original, 3500. And also, if you count recurs, it would be a 9 pointer. Not 12. In its present condition, I would say less than half that. As for the owner, I hope you get the most out of it as you can and things turn around for them.

I was told it was refinished not by Tony but what seemed to kill the interest in that cue was all the writing in the forearm. One side Mataya's signature the other Pretty boy Floyd.I saw that cue in person it was not tastefully done.A provenance from J. Mataya and no wrinting in the forearm and the cue would have sold long ago for a better price.

why in the world would you mess with a BOAR? totally killed its value IMO, if I could choose between this boar and a plain jain boar for the same price, I would choose the unmodified plain jain boar.
