NFS yet -- need ID and value help

An old friend of mine seems to be thinking of selling this cue. He always thought it was a Southwest, but maybe not??

He's looking for ID help and approximate value. It does have one unusual identifying feature (I think) -- the little white dot inset into the end of the joint screw.

Any ideas? I should mention the cue seems pretty straight to me but also has the usual nicks and dings from a lot of use over the years, so it is definitely sound but not mint.

Cue ID

Nice cue, but 100% not a South West! Good luck, someone on here will know what it is for sure.

100% Libra cue made in TX....value somewhere 500-1000 in this market if ex shape and straight.

cueaddicts knows his Libra cue.

I've also had one Libra with white dot in the pont like shown here so that was first thing in my mind (although I'm no Libra expert). I guess Gilbert also did this later on?

Also I can't recall 100% but I think Libra cue has 3/8x10 pin whereas SW is brass 3/8x11 pin.

I will buy the cue somewhere in the middle of the range quoted by Sean (cueaddicts).

Thank you for your offer! This just goes to show how little I know about cues, because I never even heard of a Libra. It sounds like they were Texas cue makers, but didn't have a big production run. I have no idea how this one ended up in NH, lol.

It looks like my friend is going to hang on to the cue for now (it has been his "player" for about ten years), but if anything changes in the future, I will let you know.

Thanks again for all the great information you guys provided -- whether here or via PM.
