Sitting here at home waiting the Hurricane out. Just called Buffalo Billiards.

???????????????What do you mean can't go out at night? When did this country become warsaw??

The police have already put several looters in jail. The Mayor said if you get caught after 8PM you will go to the big house. After 6AM you can go out. I got tired of watching the news about the storm because I am right here in the middle of it!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Thanks for the be safe and be careful. They did that because of looters and the streets are unsafe. Flooded and the wind is 80MPH.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Well if they hadn't wrote in such a code as to enact martial law the looters could just get blow away and save us the tax money to house their sorry asses.

I have one of those lights already. I use it to work on computers. Would you believe that at Buffalo Billiards, the worlds pool hall that they were holding flash lights for each other to make shots, wow!!! Hmmmm, I wish I could have been there. But we can not go out after 8PM. and until 6AM. If you do go out you go to jail. One parish wants you to call the police if you have to go out! PS. I have my Sprint wireless card and 2 batteries for my 3 laptops. I will keep you all posted.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Just watchout for those road players coming to town with their custom headlight hats, and laser cue sights...

I haven't followed the news at all (no TV, radio or mainstream media at all for me), so I wasn't aware this was hitting now.

Best wishes and stay safe, Lock N Load and all others. My thoughts and prayers go out for safety and protection for all those who may be potentially impacted.

Peace.

It's nice in Texas

I wish I had left now.
The hurricane is upon us, winds blowing and roaring loud raining hard. Well at least the electric is still on for now. Just a little update on this storm in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Many Regards,
Lock N Loaf.

Hi there Lock,

I was going to stay but I could see most of the people and players in the area are staying home and waiting out the storm.

I wanted to see the hurricane but not that bad.

I remembered something a player told me years back.

You can control your environment but you can't control circumstances.

What he meant was don't put yourself in a bad situation when your out there on the road. Like around dangerous people or bad areas. And if you do have your back covered.

I thought about this when I made my decision to hightail it over to Texas.

Nice out, the rooms nice, the poolhall is great and Big Truck will be here soon putting on the best show in the business.

I'm getting excited already. can't wait for the first match.

It don't get any better than this..............

Good luck over there Lock and everyone else over there .

Stay safe.......

Well, the Big Easy didn't get the direct force but they got a serious
humidity problem.
This video puts you right there....

Hello hemlock hemlock,
I made it thru the night by the grace of God. Lost electric last night at 12:30 AM. On battery on my laptop with a slow sprint card. AZB is hard to get on to and very slow. I have to refresh the page to sign in. Wind and rain is still very bad. Roaring right now. I thank you for your concern about me. It is great to have real friends like you! Water everywhere. My fence is down, trees down power lines down. Real rough down here right now.. I wont be shooting pool down here for a while. Thanks again. Typing by flash light.
Many Regards,

Thanks for checking it L N L. Issac appears it's going to do more damage than most thought. The stubborn SOB is just squatting, nearly stalled and covering a massive area. New Orleans is projected to get 12-20 inches of rain by the time Issac finally leaves. Some houses have taken in 9 feet of water and people are trapped. High tide hits in a couple hours.

Seems to me that any places that are low lying areas are in for for the worst of it. Only good news I see is that the levees are holding and all pumps are working.

Lock N Load - is your house susceptible to dangerous or damaging flooding or are you on good ground?

I wonder the same @ Joey A...

Hang in there!

what's truly awesome is that there have been no death reports so far. one of my vendors in NOLA has half power right now....apparently the storm isn't halfway over yet

how's it going Lock ?

Let us know something .You should of drove up to the A T L and made camp at our home . Calling you in a few minutes to get the latest.Hope that phone of yours has a charge .

A city like Naw'lins can be hard to leave....the Big Easy has the charm of
many of the old European cities.
Most people from New Orleans feel like Monsieur Chenier....

a quick update

The Lock is tied to the dock and OK . Said he had to put a squeegy on one side of his cue and a mop head on the other, and use his cue case to bail out the over flow .
On the serious tip ,he said to tell everyone he is ok and the storm is stuck over NOLA with serious winds .Hoping we will hear more from him ,Joey A . ,
or any of our friends in Issac's path to let us know all is well.

Hey Matt90,
I thank you so much for posting that last update about storm, and me. Winds are still high. Raining real bad. Still no electric. I am on another laptop on the battery and using a flash light to see with. i am hanging in there as best as I can. Floor still flooded. I wish to thank everyone who was/is concerned about me and the other people going thru this terrible disaster. It is good to have people that care about people. I appreciate that very much.
any Regards,
Lock N Load.

Hope all is well for you guys on the east side of the storm. I have a house and townhome in Broussard and apparently not much in the way of winds or rain (luckily). But electricity has been out at the house since yesterday morning about 11am. I hate pine trees! The guy who split the property into homesites about 30 years ago planted pine trees about every 25 feet for almost 1/4 mile. Now they are about 80 ft. tall and 18" in diameter, all right alongside the power lines. Every time the wind blows more than about 50 mph, the limbs break and knock a transformer. Still feel blessed that there was no real property damage as a result other than some spoiled food in the frig.

???????????????What do you mean can't go out at night? When did this country become warsaw??

Just for clarification, the imposition of a dusk-to-dawn curfew during and immediately after a hurricane is and has been standard operating procedure under all states' emergency operations plans, and the power to do so flows from the the government's extraordinary powers during a declared state of emergency.

You may be interested to know that the powers of state agencies during a declared emergency--particularly those of FEMA--are MUCH more extensive than the simple imposition of a curfew, and those powers have been in existence for decades.
