The Cuemaker Listing I have been working on is coming along very nicely, thanks to many of you who have contributed helpful input in trying to make it as complete and accurate as possible. There is still work to be done of course, and I thank everyone in advance for continuing to contribute information and help to make this as accurate as possible.

A few of you have seen the usefulness of this as a place to showcase your cuemaking skills. Here is and example of it's usefulness by BHQ, http://www.classifiedbilliards.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=6347
(thanks Brent).

Just imagine what a resource this will be once we get all of you guys showcasing your talents. And it's Free.

This will be very useful for all the active guys who wish to take advantage of it, but that's not enough, as there are many many cuemakers from the past as well as current who have alot of historical data and value information listed in the Blue Book as well,,,,,,

So coming soon,,,,,the cuemaker listing will be integrated with The Blue Book of Pool Cues, and each Cuemaker Listed in our Listing who is in the Blue Book will sport a Blue Book Logo in their listing, very much like this Abear Listing, which takes the user to that Cuemaker's Blue Book listing, with their historical data, secondary market cue values, and specifications. This will be set up as a temporary access to only that particular cuemaker's Blue Book listing, at a special price offered by Blue Book for Classified Billiards members.

The effort is being made to make this resource as useable and informative as possible, by showcasing active Cuemakers, as well as accessing archives of historical information and market values of all the great Cuemakers from the past.

It's a monumental undertaking, but it is coming, and is in process,,,,,,,

Please comment on this concept of integrating the Blue Book with the cuemaker listing. I see this as being a very useful tool for anyone who is interested in Cuemaking, cue collecting, cue secondary market values, etc,,,,,,,

If it's helpful to people it's worth doing,,,,,,,,I'd just like to get comments on whether it's going to be interesting and/or helpful in your opinion.

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Looks good but the info you have for me is way outdated (not that anyone would care)

im not a cuemaker so my commenting here may be inapprpriate
if so i appologize
but maybe you want feedbck from someone who has a subscription to blue book publishing cues and is interested in cuemaking and cuemakers

first a question
when someone clicks on the blue box they will get a message from blue book for subscription rates to access the info???

i have found the bios ,info about the cues, options available, examples wait times etc
very informative and helpfull from blue book
however

question #2
do you beleive the values posted in the secondary market area is accurrate for todays environment????

im not a cue flipper so i really dont know the market but i think some prices are too low( for example an "unknown" 3-4 years ago when the book was published and since has built a reputation)
and others too high based on the economy

having accesss to the bios ,whats standard in the cues, options and exaples ,etc i think isvery usefull

last comment
if the list of cuemakers coud be alphabetical within the state listing it would also be help full

finally
renegade_56 you dont get enough kudos for all you do to try to help cuemakers specifically and the pool world in general
kudos to you

No, the price table in the BB are not accurate but they were as good as you can get when the books were published. The market/climate/economy changes. Cues bring different amounts regionally. Different cue makers are more known in their region. Media and internet has made it easier to find what a buyer is looking for. Many other factors as well.

Point being, how can anyone predict what the future of the secondary market is going to be? The BB is one of the best tools out there and Brad and his team do an excellent job with it. It is just that, a tool. Use it along with this forum, ebay, and whatever else you find to formulate the value of a cue.

Looks pretty good.

Thank you very much,,,,,,,,we're trying to make this as useful and informative as possible.

And just like that,,,,,,,,,your info is updated.
I'm doing this for you guys, and maybe your potential customers, so to be effective it's imperative that I get input from you, the Cuemakers, to make it accurate and useful.

The bio information is free, but when clicking on specifications, secondary market values, etc,,,,,the subscription page will come up, which will have an option for users through Classified Billiards to access the single cuemakers information for "probably" 5 days, at a special rate of $1.95. The terms are still debatable, but will certainly be a significant savings for quick information, without having to buy long term subscriptions or books.

No, since the market is currently in disarray because of the economy,,,,,,but,,,,I do think that for the most part the values are pretty much relative, so a particular maker that was valued higher than another particular maker when the book was last updated likely still is. The Blue Book is still a great reference,,,,,,,but only a reference.

Actually, it's even easier than that with our setup,,,,,,,,,,you do not need to know the State a Cuemaker is in,,,,,,,,just go to the Alphabetical listing here http://www.classifiedbilliards.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=6366 and scroll down to the cuemakers name, then click the name and you are taken to their State Listing with all of their contact info they provide. If they are listed in the Blue Book, there will be bio info there, and a Blue Book Logo, which is linked to their Blue Book listing with all of their info.

Thank you very much,,,,,,,this is alot of work, but it needs to be done.

EXACTLY!

Update

OK, here is an update to the integration of the Blue Book of Pool Cue Values with our running list of active, and past Cuemakers. The data is all entered in the alphabetical listing here, http://www.classifiedbilliards.com/mybb/forumdisplay.php?fid=269
Each cuemaker name that has a Blue Book Logo preceding it is included in the current online Blue Book edition. Clicking on any name will take you to that particular cuemaker's individual thread. If that cuemaker is in the Blue Book, there will be a Blue Book Logo within the Cuemakers thread, with historical data and bios as provided by Blue Book as well. Clicking on that logo will take you to Blue Books online subscription page, which has several options, including individual item lookup, individual Cuemaker lookup, annual membership, etc,,,
The next step in this process is a link that gives users a severely reduced rate for individual Cuemaker lookup, which will be added by Blue Book on their subscription page. As per our agreement, this will be very inexpensive. More on that later.
Now, in order to make this really be usefull for everyone, I would ask that any cuemaker who is interested please look at your listing, and if need be provide updated contact, biographical, or historical information that would be useful for both you as the cuemaker, but also for browsers and potential customers of your products. Also, if you wish, you are quite welcome,,,,,,hell no, you're invited, to upload images of your work so everyone can see what you sell. Several of you have done so already, and all are invited.
Lastly, if any of you have ideas of how we can make this listing more useful to everyone as a whole, I'd love to hear your ideas, either here in this forum, PM's, or on my forum.

Thanks in advance for your input,,,,,

i may have missed it but when i clicked on florida i did NOT see dayton or nitti cues listed athough they were in the alphabetical listing:confused:

thats why in the states lists it should be alphabetical also
just sayin:smile:

It can't be alphabetical in the States listing Larry because it's actually not a list, it's a forum, whereas every cuemaker is listed in an individual thread. This way, the cuemaker can enter his individual thread and add any info, images, specials,,,,,,,,whatever he wishes to his listing. Other members can comment and converse with the cuemaker in his personal thread as well. This was all done purposely, to grow this into the best cues and cuemaking resource ever compiled, hopefully. Some cuemakers are already displaying some awesome work over there, and I think it'll grow alot once people realize the usefulness of it.

But, the short answer,,,,,since the list is actually a forum, and the listings are actually threads, they move up every time a new post is made, just like people bumping WFS items over here.

The search feature works very well too,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not surprised but I don't see RT Custom Cues listed.

If there is a listing in Blue Book, it is also in the Cuemaker Directory,,,,,,if not all you have to do is send me the info,,,,,or, as a member on the site, enter it yourself.

Did you provide info for a listing like others did Tom?
