I do miss most of the people I've play with and against over the years..
So I go visit
Played league for a few years many years ago. If I go out to play pool, I want to play pool. Not sit there all night watching others play. Especially when half of them don't even care.
... I had my reservations about joining full time since I don't play much on the bar box, and I don't shoot 8-ball at all. But I started playing and been having a good time since....
Tell me about it. The next closest in my division is a couple of 7's, so I usually am giving up a pretty massive spot. It's enough to make it tough for me to win if my opponent is playing well for their skill level or if I am a bit off. I just lost to one of those 7's this week. I couldn't do anything right for the first 4 racks and he was getting out pretty easily, so I went down 35-5. Managed to pull myself together well enough to make the final ball count 58-55, but that's still a 14-6 win for him. Ouch.sucks that I'm the only 9 at the moment in that division.. talk about a walking target
You don't shoot 8-ball but your name is 8ballEinstein?!? What am I missing here?
I would never play in an APA again. I might consider a BCA. What would be better is if the rules could be combined & get rid of the bad ones from both, but that will never happen.
I play on 2 leagues for the oppertunity to shoot against opponents, I am off the beaten path and nearest pool hall is 1 hour away, I dont mind bar tables, I have a 9 ft. table in basement to play all I want to on, I just wish it was easier to find some opponents to play on my table. I just found out that one of the pool halls has weekly 9 ball tournaments, I plan on playing some of those as time permits.
