No one likes it...giving or receiving?

I'm on both end's of the stick. My Wednesday team is 2nd from last in a Sixteen team league. Friday's...we are 63-15 game wise, Still early in the season. I'd be shocked if we lost a match, we've already played the other good teams once.

On the other hand, I'd be shocked if we won another match on Wednesdays.

It's unsportsmanlike to ease up and let someone win a game. I'm on the losing end half the time. I don't want anyone to throw me a bone.

I'm talking about darts. But it's the same thing with Pool. That's why "League sucks".
 
I don't know you personally, so perhaps I'm reading into your original post incorrectly. If I'm way off base, I apologize ahead of time.

I'm missing the point of your post. Are you bragging? Are you complaining? Are you suggesting that your Friday night team is so good that nobody can beat you, so you might as well quit the league? And your Wednesday night team is so bad that you can't win, so you might as well quit? If so, I've heard those complaints so many times I wanna puke!

If your team is really good, do NOT sandbag. Not only is it unsportsmanlike, it's also very disrespectful and degrading to the lower teams. In damn near every league, the lesser players and teams make up half of the league. If they disappear, your league will wither and die. At one point in time you weren't that good, but you put in the practice and got better. Now, chances are the lesser players look up to you, so it's time for you to be a little humble and help them out. Give them some pointers. Help them become better. The more talented players in your league, the bigger and better your league will get and everyone will prosper, including you. Also, if you're just so good that you can't concentrate during leagues because there's no way you can possibly lose, set lofty goals for yourself and your team. Hone your skills to perfection and use league play as practice for side action and tournaments where you can win some decent money.

If your team isn't very good, do NOT give up. Every player started right where you are. In order to get better, you have to practice. A LOT! Play against better players. Watch what they do and why they do it. Ask questions. However, you might not get free information. You might have to risk a little money gambling and/or in tournament entry fees to play against the big boys. If/When you lose, use it as a learning experience. You're not going to become a master overnight. It takes years to get better, so expect slow improvements. Keep at it and you'll get better.

Finally, whether you're good or bad, if you're not having fun playing leagues, either quit complaining or quit playing because nobody wants to hear it.
