IndyQ, the worst customer service response ever...

strange

That's strange, I've been dealing with Roy for years and he has always been a great guy.

Assuming I have all the facts

Wow, what a asshole. I'm sure someone will be in here to defend him soon, but I say post his email address. I wouldn't buy shit from someone with that attitude.

Seems to be common place around here lately.

There are plenty of similar previous experiences to be found with a search. I've resolved to always order from the maker for cues and cases, and to be VERY discriminating even with the makers. They don't have to have 40 years of impeccable reputation, but they have to have a standard of quality and a basic ability to interact with people without being a giant asshole. That's usually a good rule of thumb.

Someone should send him a copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People.
What a jackass.

Very odd response for a businessman

It would seem that "this is the best I can do" would have sufficed as a response. Makes me question what his response would be if a customer wanted to return something (i.e. damaged in shipment) and that is a question a person needs to feel secure about before purchasing.
Have you had dealings with him in the past.
Tommy

Ok, I am not defending Roy here. From what I have seen in his response although still very rude nomatter what his reasons are I think that he has maybe got the OP mixed up with someone else. If the OP has never mentioned being a dealer then why would he just go off about it like that? So I am guessing he thinks you are someone else he thinks he knows and don't like trying to pull a fast one on him and so he is going off. Even if you were the guy he thinks you are its still not a good way to talk to people, I would try to be nice and get you to buy more from me. Just saying.

There's been a few threads like this lately. I don't understand why there has to be such drama. Retail, wholesale, cue dealer or not. Everyone here is on a pool playing forum, nothing more or less. If someone asks for a "best price" or offers their "best price", take it or leave it. There is no reason to be a snot about it. Mistreating a potential customer is bad for business. Hey, you never know who might switch jobs and become the sports buyer for Cosco.

I am really glad this is sponserd by Seybert's. They treat you with respect and give great service.

Roy is not politically correct, and will dish it out if you treat him badly. He can be a grumpy old many, or your best friend.

As I always say there are THREE SIDES to all stories at a MINIMUM.

Roy is a world-class d!ckhead...

Over the last few years, I've steered half a dozen people AWAY from him and his overpriced inventory...and knowing that I helped to keep even one red cent out of his pockets makes me giggle.

Yep. That's the same type of response I got when I inquired about a case. I would never deal with him again.

Yah I have emails worse than this!

I purchased a cue he didnt even have anymore and then he sends me some other cue claiming that was the one i ordered. I send it back and he claims im trying to pull one over on him, after talking to him and calming him down he says ur right i see which one you want and then makes me pay return shipping to him. few weeks later I get the SAME wrong cue back at my doorstep. I call him and he says " I wouldnt send you the same cue" and rants and hangs up. I cal back and tell him I will take further actions and im not letting it slide just because hes some skytzo.
He calms down then and says ok brett honestly i dont have that cue anymore and i will give you credit back for another cue in my house. I stated i dont want another cue and im done dealing with him i just want my money back. He wouldnt do it.

We agree that he will contact Stacey and have him make me the same cue i wanted at the price i paid for it. Long story, he send me a cue that was not like the cue I ordered but i kept just because i was done with dealing with him. He belongs in a looney bin.

He has a problem with trusting people because he supposively got robbed at his last business and almost beat to death. Understandable.. Believe it or not this transaction was the second ive had with Roy. The first one he let me in his shop (which is rare), bought a cue and shot the crap with him.. it was a nice visit! So i figured repeat business he would enjoy dealing with me as well again. Not so.

Just be careful if you deal with him. He is BLIND as a bat and has no memory.

You won't be giggling when he comes out to Washington D.C. just to whoop your ass...

I have had bad experience with Roy too. He was very rude and called me names. I would never buy a cue or anything from this *****.

I was treated the same way after offering Roy fifty dollars less than his asking price on a JB case. So I ordered one directly from John and paid one hundred less than his price. Roy was nice at first. Then the insults and accusations of being a dealer. And by the way, I was a repeat customer whom he treated nicely the first time.

Roy is not stable and I actually feel sorry for him. He must be paranoid and miserable. I recommend that no one buy from him because his customer service can be very abusive. Just do a search on here and you will see a pattern.

Coocoocowboy likes to say people are abusive to Roy first and that is just flat out bull shit. Ignore him!

Right.

I'll pencil him in for an appointment.....

This is the closest thing I've seen on AZ to the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld.

Imagine if you bought a cue that was supposed to come with joint protectors and they weren't in the box.
