Got this cue as a Paradise. Had two shafts, removable ferrules, bad finish, cortland wrap with under thread start and end, very played, and old. Turns out the shafts and wrap were Palmer done, sometime in the 70's. I had Pete T do the work, and authentification. Cue is from 60-62 ish time period. Pete mentioned that very few of the windows had print writing, most are cursive.

The bumper is new for me as well. Is it white?

Very cool story, very cool cue. If only it could talk......

Balabushka used a delrin plug on some cues. This cue had that plug originally but the delrin on the cue is older and more yellow. So the Nylon just color matched better. There are pictures of this arrangement in the Billard Encyclopedia as well as the Blue Books.

That's a new one for me, and I don't have the books....thank you so much for the info and specific picture.

Fascinating really. I have often wondered why we don't see more of such materials used in such a way.

They make too much noise when silly people bang them on the floor ...last year I had the bright idea of putting some "indestructible" plastic bumpers on a few house cues. Hearing them hit the floor over and over, over a coarse few days, they were swapped back to rubber

I understand. But we see a fair number of cues with no bumper at all. This would seem to be a fairly tidy compromise between bumperless and a rubber bumper. Or, perhaps, just another look or option.

I don't think it would replace a bumper for somebody that wants one...
