Ive got $100.00 against a 12pack that it is neither a Justis or a king. Even money it's a very good asian case. Place your bets.
Looks cool![]()

I think when and if Jack chimes in the bet would be a push due to the family ties.

I am not learning, I have had one of these cases,
This is 100% a Justis West case either marked or non marked . To clarify, I have had plenty of jacks cases and a few justis west cases, and they do not have the same standards. Jacks cases are built with better leather and a lot more attention to detail. The justis west cases you MUST condition a lot otherwise they start to crack pretty frequently and the zippers are a lot cheaper made. Don't, take this the wrong way, these cases are still nice and with the extra tooling on this one I would value the case around 400-500 dollars (the simple tooled ones go for about 300-350).
Hope this helps and good luck if you sell it,
-Trevor
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Justis West cases have the tube style interior? I've. Owned a few of them and I seem to recall they were tubes.
Trevor Thanks! Your right I don't like the Zippers But the case is beautifull.
I was thinking about having the zippers re-done with bigger heavier duty zippers If I don't sell it.
Why don't you put a price on it here? This is a sales forum, just post what you want for it. Ozone was selling the unbranded ones for like $400ish I think, Omega was selling the "official" ones with the Justis West logo for $450ish.
If anyone cares to know the story it goes like this as far as I know it. Jack was asked to teach the Chinese company Long Chan how to make his cases and for permission to use a version of his brand name. Jack asked for a sum of money for this and was granted that sum and promised more payments on a yearly basis. Jack and his wife went to China and did show Long Chan how to make the cases and Jack declared that the resulting cases were as good as his own and that the Chinese had even made an improvement that Jack immediately adopted into his own cases.
Justis West cases were made, Omega was the main distributor and all was seemingly ok for a while. But then Long Chan failed to make the next payment and so they broke their agreement with Jack. But they haven't stopped using the Justis West logo, have not stopped producing "Justis West" branded cases and have sold unbranded Justis-design cases to Ozone and probably others.
Soooo, for the copy police and the moralists out there these cases are essentially representative of a broken contract and are basically stolen goods in a manner of speaking. Of course no one sees it that way because it's not thievery when we are talking about manufacturered goods are we?
You seen this is what I have said about Long Chan the whole time. The money that they paid Jack with was in part earned through the profits from all the other case making designs they have stolen these past 20 years. When I owned Instroke they ripped off every design I came up with. I once estimated the losses to be around ten million from the time they started making knockoffs of my designs until now.
Sorry to go off on a bit of a rant here but the fact is that this case is a complete slap in the face to Jack and all the other case makers out there whom Long Chan has ripped off. But at least Jack got some money out of it. I warned Jack what I thought would happen and unfortunately it did.
So the bottom line is let's not play a bunch of games and call it what it is. It's a Justis West case without a logo made by people who broke their contract with Jack. The case carries no warranty and it may or may not have been made according to the standards of Jack's own cases.
Those are the facts as I know them. I will be happy to sell the new owner a replacement interior for this case if they desire and thus upgrade the cue protection to our standards.
Your right The design is beautiful I don't like the zippers.
like I said in my previous post & Trevor said the Leather has to be kept up,
with more maintenance so I have seen that they were sold for a litle over $400
I don't know what jack is selling the (Quality Case) for
but i'm thinking of selling this & paying the extra money to buy Jack's case.
Thanks JB for your info.
Sounds like a plan. With all the extra tooling I am guessing that this case from Jack would run about $6-700.
Jack is going to retire soon and then there won't be any more new Justis cases to be had. I estimate that there are probably not much more than 2000-2500 Justis cases in existence so as my friend Ralf told me, it's better to get one now than to fade the higher prices later and not have the option to get what you want.
