I just missed 1 short of the money. After 10 hrs of continuous play I ran out of the little gas I have left. Played my best match in a long time when I played Zaksas, (the first match of the tourn) the eventual winner to a final ball decision. I lost to him in the one hole 23 to 22. I had two goods shots at the money but it was not to be. Like they say, I am not as good as I once was, but I am as good once as I ever was.

You're not getting old Freddie, you are just becoming "vintage" :)

It was a "FULL FIELD"....but no Murphy, Gregg, Hogue, Fargo or Brumback. Not even "Piggybanks" (and he lives 6 miles from here). BUT it was a successful tournament anyhow. Maybe they will show at the next one.

I'm glad to hear that John.

It doesn't matter who plays, I just figured as nice as red shoes is, and as much action is around that area, you'd think that the names would come up. Although Freddy, Tom, and Ike are all names so that's nice.

I wish I still lived down there to play in the tourneys. Lavin taught me how to play straight pool when Griz was still alive and running the Billiards Den and steered me to Red Shoes to learn the way. I was in my late teens and Little Rob was a couple years younger than me and Uncle Mike Theisen taught me how to play one pocket there. It was at least 18 years ago or so and it was a great time hanging out at Red Shoes.

Ahhhhh....A walk down memory lane. I hope life has been treating you well. For anybody that doesn't remember the "GRIZ". He was THE most imposing individual I ever met (11 ft. tall...at least 1000 lbs)....but gentile as a lamb (God rest his soul).
