I am looking into buying a pool table, new or used as long as it kept under 3k

Found this table for sale, and was wondering if it is a good buy

asking price is $850

will cost me $575 to move it and installed at my place

what are things i should look for when inspecting this table, will the condition of the table cost me too much to make it shine again?

Cant go wrong there... you can email pics of it to Cuephoric1@gmail and I can look at what I see, and give you a call. The aprons are usually the first thing to get cracked or broken, or the veneer on the legs which are basically a hollow drum- check underneath for big cracks in frame itself under the slate, make sure cross supports are all there, outside of that, if it rolls straight, banks well, and all the parts are there- easy to restore overall

If the slate and rubber is in good condition that IMO is an outstanding buy. If not it is still worth that price. When properly set up that is one of the best playing tables ever made. JMHO....

what are the ways i can look for the condition on the slate and rubber?

do i feel the the slate with my hand to feel for crack and holes?

what is the rubber? are those the banks? how do i check? bounce a ball against them?

First - see if they will throw in the hunting gear... just kidding.

Rails: Dead rail rubber gets either super hard, or soft like a gummy bear. Chance are, you will note if the rails are dead based on ball response... although loose bolts will also cause a rail response to be poor.

Slate: You can inspect for cracks from underneath... but you won't know the true shape until the felt is off and the slate is removed. At that point you can inspect the seams for chips that are otherwise hidden by wax/water putty/bondo.

Where are you located? IMO you can probably find a better deal on a nicer table if you are anywhere near a metro area. There's some unbelievable deals out there if you wait and watch daily then pounce.

nice deal

You couldn't find a better playing table for the price you are paying. Even if you have to replace the cushions, you will still be in a price range that is good..
