Mosconi Cup 2012 Day (3) Discussion

I dont like that match up with shuff against melling. Shuff is shooting well but has to play smarter.

Cause they are having fun and playing for honor, not money?

not exactly true. Each team gets paid whether they win or lose, unlike the Ryder Cup where nobody gets paid.

Although it's tough to compare golf to pool where none of the players need any money and for the pool players this is a big payday.

It's still an electric event with more than just individual prize money on the line.

Oh there's a huge money difference. Losing team makes half what the winning team does. I think it's $7500 per player to lose and $15,000 per player to win.

There's a lot of dough on the table.

Just through the years, they always play NVB in tough ass spots. That tells me that he's more like Europe's version of Archer. He's very clutch, guy just continually comes with it. Okay back to work I pretended to be on a conference call lol.

he kind of reminds me of Ian Poulter. He's won a few big tourneys and several on the Euro tour, but put that guy in the Ryder Cup and he's almost unbeatable. The same is almost true of Sergio Garcia. Some types of pressure just suit some people more than others.

Anyone know how they are determining who breaks first??? I'm not seeing a lag. Am I just missing it.

This could be a tough match for JA, van den berg seems to play well under pressure.

It's a pay check. Don't think any of the players are dissapointed with 7500$. Noy winning, that's another story.

Pressure does funny things...

Hopefully Mike can redeem himself later on the same way he did when he won the Ultimate 10 Ball after missing a similar 7 ball vs JJ that cost him a loss in semis. He later went on the beat JJ in the finals.

The comparison is that the pressure seemed really high and Mike looked very nervous in that semi match vs JJ just as he did today.

I prefer cocky Dechaine if I'm betting on him...

I want to see Dechaine and Shuff free wheel through a set like the typical American 9 ball hustler

Lots of pressure on all the players.

Super impressed with VDB. He has been solid.

Still hope JA gets the best of him though.

Really fun to watch. Wish I could be there.

GO USA !!!!!

:)
