8-ball break on valley bar tables

Notice this post comes from chicago ...the land of crooks cheats and obama. Some of us don't worry about how much cheating and unethical behavior is aloud in the world and have our own standards but an obvious cheat. And swindler as yourself wouldn't comprehend that.
All of these twats posting about "cheaters" and "unethical" are complete idiots... You know what's cheating and unethical... Taking an extra 5 minutes on your lunch break and not telling your boss about it..... Shut the hell up acting like your all gods gift to the world and your some honorable do gooder.

Learn to play the GAME... Learn to check racks, learn to know when someone is putting on rack on you. If you don't know these things, then have fun playing for funsies once a month on your friends garbage table in the basement.

Chivalry and honor died a long long time ago, and if you still believe it is around then your a sucker.

Now on point. On a VALLEY table only (I dont like this break on a diamond BB) I like to break from the standard 9 ball break spot. Head string just far enough off the rail to be comfortable for you. Aim 2nd ball as full as possible 1 tip of low 1/2 tip of outside. Hit with medium-soft speed. With this break I make a ball in the bottom corner atleast 80% of the time. The racks are a bit more cluttered this way, but if you know how to play BB 8ball well then most of the time you can work out the rack. If you hit the break to hard the ball that normally goes to the corner gets kicked out by another ball, so you really have to work on the speed of this break. I very rarely scratch doing this, and almost always lay for a nice opening shot.

Let me ask you, if the only way to win was to cheat, would you do so?

I wouldn't play.

What good would it do me? Would I be happier? Would I actually be a better pool player? I might as well rob a bank and call it a job.

And if your opponent was cheating such that it would be improbable that you could win, what would be your reply?

Notice that he rants about people taking 5 extra minutes on their lunch and has a tag line that calls somebody's morality and integrity into question? I'm guessing he's full of it on his post, too. The people that I've known that go around saying the world's full of cheats and liars are usually saying that because they're cheats and liars.

I'm starting to think that this entire thread had no real point.

What's your APA rank? Just curious.

Believe it or not I don't have one! I've never participated in a league before. One pocket and banks are my true loves in pool. And the APA hasn't yet blessed me with a league in those disciplines!

But I might be joining an 8-ball league on the bar table for the first time very soon!

I play primarily on barboxes. You should learn to break both ways. 2nd ball works well on a Diamond and for tables that aren't breaking well(spreads em easier).

I usually play with more than 1 person at a time and on barboxes, so not much 1P going on for me. I do like me some short rack banks, though. Been putting some work in.. I may know what I'm doing eventually. I just asked the question because I can't put a finger on you.

With a name like Banks I thought you would have figured me out right away!

Im not going to go out of my way to quote all the nits and suckers who quoted me, but here is the jist of it.

I don't cheat, but I am almost not nieve. If you can't see someone putting a rack on you then its your own damn fault. If you don't like the way they are racking, then rack them yourself and viseversa.

Maybe if you play pool during the day with the old guys shooting straight pool and 1 hole for $1/game then you might get a honest game.

But if you are in action, at any real pool hall in the country you need to be ready for anything. And if you are going to shoot every cheat or break all of there fingers then you better be one big billy badass cause you have a long way to go.

Parting note... If you are honestly and truely a honorable, law abiding, truth telling individual then we all have a lot to learn from you. But what really grinds my gears is people who live an average life, telling white lies, breaking rules, and doing what they need to get by coming on a forum board acting like they are the virgin mary.

In rack your own anything goes.

If your opponent racks and leaves you gaps, learn how to exploit them. You will come out on top in the end.

I see a mixture of 2nd-ball breaks and mid table straight on (a little to the side) breaks.

Since you seem to like to talk down to everyone and call names I'll give you the same...

No one is saying you shouldn't watch for loose racks idiot.. Of course there's scum bag cheats like you out there trying to take advantage of you every chance they get ...that doesn't mean cheating shouldn't be called out imbecile. There's a difference between watching for a loose racking scumbag our being a lose racking scum bag. You apparently can't see the difference.

Ya there is also a big difference between crying like a ***** on a forum board and actually playing pool. You all attack some poor guy for trying to improve his game calling him a cheat and a scum bag (omg dood you named called first). Stop crying like a ****ing baby, and pointing fingers at everyone calling them a cheat just because they attempt to play the game. Are chris bartrum and corey duel cheats for pattern racking? Go stick you fat greasy finger in there face and call them cheats... See where you end up the.

I don't think anyone on here has a problem with pattern racking unless the rules forbid it. It's just the idea of leaving a gap on purpose that makes people feel sleazy. I don't think corey or chris would do that, and that's the kind of thing that makes people throw around the word "cheater".

Also, just because someone has done something wrong at some point in their lives... doesn't mean they lose the right to complain about other people's shortcomings. It also doesn't mean "well, since I once took 5 extra minutes on my lunch break, I can slug racks or wire them for myself. After all, I'm no angel."

Pattern racking is quite obnoxious and gives just as big of an advantage as tilting a rack or leaving a gap if you know how to play that rack.

I am not saying that just because you do one bad, continue doing more bad. What I was saying is, is the pot really going to call the kettle black?

To further my last statement. Players of a lower speed might not mind pattern racking because the people they are playing don't know how to play it right. But go ask pro level players how the feel about pattern racking, I would bet money that a few of them might throw around the word "cheating" or "scummy" or "bullshit" when reffering to it.

I'll be happy to call them cheaters lol why would I be scared. I didn't call the original poster a cheater... I commented that trying to rack someone is cheating. Again your just not bright enough to see the difference lol

Is there a rule against pattern racking? Then its not cheating... I do it. If they make a rule against I'd stop. I think now for me its just a habit and I don't think it gives me much of An advantage
