Have You Ever Snapped A Cue ?

breaking cues

Thers a guy named Dennis that drinks heavy and plays in the bars, he is well known for using his cue like a spear. He used to run a pretty rough bar and there were holes everywhere in the Sheetrock . No telling how many cues he he has broke. Hell of a nice guy though lol

Seems that most of the people that break cues are nice people.
Its the quiet ones that you have too watch.

Never broke one myself but have a younger friend that has broke 2. Once over his knee and the second he claimed was an "accident" when he slammed his shaft on the edge of the table.

Yeah, once, a few years back. I broke a low end cue that gave me quite a bit of frustration... err, should I say "I caused myself quite a bit of frustration with"... Haven't even considered it before or since though, and I don't recommend it!

~10 years ago I snapped a Meucci shaft after missed a long straight in power draw I wasn't skilled enough to pull off. That cue played nice.

A few.:o All Meucci's. I have a love /hate relationship with them.
One I didn't try to break! I missed a shot and just flexed the shaft a little on the table. Meucci's are like whips, what could go wrong?
The butt exploded! Sawdust all over the table! I liked that cue ! :(

hmmm yes but only 2 that I can remember. These were both like 20 yrs ago.

1 was a cognoscenti I snapped after giving up the 6,7 and 8 and not getting there.

The 2nd was a early 90's josswest.

Not on purpose, but I shattered an Adam's shaft some years ago while breaking with it. It was a very strange thing because it felt solid the stroke before and the next second it was completely destroyed.

As for snapping my own cue, I've wanted to a couple of times, but I cannot afford it.

Have you ever broke one of your cues?
I snapped a Meucci about 15 years ago. Never put a scratch on one since but I really don't regret breaking that one.

Hey Peteypooldude,
Happy New Year to you and your family. No I have not broke a cue. I have been broke myself though! He, he, he.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

At one time I was going through so much wood,I started getting hate
mail from David Suzuki:)

Not yet...

Nope, haven't snapped one yet...

In fact, I'm going to tempt the gods and say that I haven't popped off a tip from one of my cues that I can remember... That wouldn't be quite so funny, but I recently sold a cue to a friend to give to someone as a Christmas present (long story). The first night out, the new owner pops the tip off! Go figure.

I will say twice in the last 6 months I've been as frustrated as I've ever been on the pool table, never really had the urge to take it out on the cue. Just want to get back on the table and figure out why my head is so far up my "fourth point of contact"

No. I never have and hopefully I never will.

I've witnessed many though. Just seeing that and how foolish the players look after doing so, is enough entertainment for me.

I have felt like breaking a few. I'm also cheap, in that respect.

It's been a long time since I broke a cue, now if I feel my adrenalin pumping the 1st thing I do is put my cue down and walk away. Along with that I have learned to keep my mouth shut. I still see players breaking cues and slamming them on the table on a regular basis though. One of the funniest things I've seen lately was a guy intending to throw his cue against the wall only to realize he threw it out of a opened door

Only intentionally once....and it felt reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal good, for many reasons. It was at the World Series of Pool during the Miller Lite days. I went outside Alone around the side of the bldg and we had a one on one with the corner of a stucco wall. Two days later with my playing cue I won $3,400. Just ask Glenn Atwell, coulda be $3,200.

I have had the great pleasure of having two people snap their cues after playing me.

Freddie <~~~ cuz I'm annoying like that

Lutman

I busted him, he busted his cue (had 4 point$ on the $haft) and then he and his girlfriend went at it as I was walkin' away, it was tho a payback moment from his traveling days and a prior match with he when he was traveling around with CJ.

That had to feel good lol

I snapped a sneaky pete and threw it out in the parking lot when I was 18 after losing a tournament match. I think the entry fee was $5 lol. Oh how long ago that was.
