Mike Dechaine

Interesting. I think the fans have really enjoyed Mike's level of competitiveness. I can remember crowds gathering to watch him play because he and his opponent were going toe to toe and neither would give an inch.

Sure, Mike is a very good player and i would watch him play anytime but dont confuse competitiveness with being immature.

Have you ever been around him watching him play? I've spent a little time watching him play at Snookers in Rhode Island. I have actually heard a conversation of his in which he was talking about cheating a local out of some money.

Tell me again why he should be heralded as one of USA's best athletes.

All that being said, he plays very well.

I've seen Mike play maybe 10 times. I doubt he would try to do what you say. I am sure he tries to make favorable games, but I don't think he is a thief. He seems to be a very nice person.

He and another local were talking about staging a game. Mike was going to side bet the "mark" and dump the set. His little smirk while discussing it was enough for me to never be a fan of his.

Believe it or not, I don't care.

Now I don't believe you, because your story is flawed. If Mike bet the mark, Mike would be betting on himself to win. And if he dumped, he would lose the bet, and the mark would win the bet.

So what are we supposed to say now?

Maybe I was unclear. Whatever the details were, the outcome of the game was predetermined, and the innocent local was guaranteed to lose his money. Perhaps Mike's buddy made the side bet. You're a super smart guy, you figure it out. He was a thief.

I can't know the answer either way, but now your story is under suspicion.

Sometimes we post without 100% accuracy. Kind of like when you said you were done posting here, only to come back in full force a few days later. Now all of your posts are under suspicion.

I hope Mike approaches you about a game that he is making with someone and asks you to help him cover his end of the bet. You would, right? He is one of our best athletes.

I don't like your tone.

Is this really the way you want to represent the sport on here? Remember, everyone is reading. What about the children, who are getting their nightly dose of AZ before bed, are you going to be responsible for their tears? The fine athletes who play at the highest levels are collectively shaking their heads Chris. Look what you've done.

This man is intent on ruining the reputation of The Fireball, and his story does not even make sense.

I had a turtle named Fireball, he once sh*t on a rock in his tank. I took a picture of the crap and taped it on my computer screen next to one of your posts and couldn't tell the difference. Weird.

Great article about a great player who has matured big time in the last few years. A great player who is trying to better his game and himself. I see nothing that indicates a d#$%head but only a man who sees his faults and is trying to better himself. If you listened to TAR tonight you heard Van Boning himself say when he was young around Mike's age he was a cocky not so nice guy. In other words he was arrogant and not respectable. So stop pounding on a mans past. Let him grow from his past mistakes. Also if you recall Justin from TAR saying he would never deal with Mike again. Well they must of hashed it out and gotten on a good page with one another. Cause guess who is heading to Vegas to play TAR soon...

Purely out of curiosity Chris Banks, just how well do you know these pros that you are saying you're so sure of what they would or wouldn't say or would or wouldn't do? I've now read where you have said that about both Earl & Mike. You do realize that when you see them play or you interact with them at an event that it's in their best interest to be nice & be on their best behavior so to speak don't you? Just because you're a big fan of someone doesn't mean that you know them personally & know how they really are. Just for the record, I'm sure you wouldn't believe even half the things I've seen & heard Earl say or do over the 16 years I've been acquainted with him. It's great that you're trying to take up for them but you should try to remember that there are many, many people on here who are actually friends with a lot of the pros & know them much better than you do. Also, so you know, I like both Earl & Mike who have been nothing but nice to me any time I've been around them, doesn't mean I'm not aware of things going on (not so much with Mike because I don't know him well).

I don't know Mike or Earl personally. Most people will do things for money that they know they should not. That is, if they feel they do not have enough of it.

But why would anyone post a story about Mike dumping when it doesn't even make sense (Mike betting on himself).
