Mike Dechaine

I read a lot of negative things about Mike Dechaine on this forum but I have watched every streamed match I've been aware of, watched him at a few tournaments and he has always conducted himself very well. Better than a lot of others and certainly as good as most.

I have spoken to him a few times and he has always been cordial and respectful and certainly professional.

I have yet to see his "dark side'. Hope I never do. Even his posts here are respectfully submitted.

I think Mike is a champion and as opportunities present themselves will ultimately be a "world champion".

Good luck, Mike.

The Fireball should be heralded as one of our top athletes in the USA. I'm not sure why people are trying to supress his talents and his success.

He is great player, he just has to learn how to handle himself when he is at least on a stream. He comes across a bit immature.

Last time i seen him was at the mosconi cup and he seemed to have issues about shaking the winners hand or something, this comes to mind right now.

I'll look it up. I've only noticed that Mike competes with ferocity, I've never noticed any underhandedness.

He does these little annoying things that make you shake your head. Like i said he is a very good player and needs to work on the other stuff.

I just read this. This is absolutely priceless! It reminds me of that scene in Kingpin when they walk into the bowling alley and see all of the old fat guys eating hot dogs, pizza, and smoking and drinking beer. Randy Quaid's character says something like "it's intimidating being in the presence of so many great athletes".

No, I would say its bad sportsmanship and bad for the sport and az billiards ;)

Interesting. I think the fans have really enjoyed Mike's level of competitiveness. I can remember crowds gathering to watch him play because he and his opponent were going toe to toe and neither would give an inch.

Have you ever been around him watching him play? I've spent a little time watching him play at Snookers in Rhode Island. I have actually heard a conversation of his in which he was talking about cheating a local out of some money.

Tell me again why he should be heralded as one of USA's best athletes.

All that being said, he plays very well.
