Floyd is without a doubt the most entertaining figure in pool. But as this thread has shown, it seems like he is not appreciated today like he was in the past. An unfortunate mistake for the pool world.
Being entertaining doesn't make some one a good ambassador it makes them entertaining

You're trying to give me a hard time when you and I both know that Floyd could be of great assistance to help support pool in this country. Why do you need to disagree with me so badly?

Jimmy was a good player but as far as I can remember his biggest accomplishment was banging Ewa even though he should have been put in prison because she 17 and he 31 at the time but that is another discussion.
He has done very little to promote the game. He was in the Color of Money and the Baltimore Bullet but that is about it.
When I think of someone being an ambassador I think of Johnny Archer/ Shane/ Efren hell even Earl. Your mental state is becoming questionable but I am sure you are just a attention seeking little fart that gets off onn getting a rise out of fellow AZ'er. Grow Up

I don't ever see Floyd getting the respect he deserves.
That is where you are wrong Mr. Banks. I respect any man that has held over 30 major titles. I just think he comes from the old school image that has hurt pool. I agree that he has a wealth of knowledge about the game. Like the terrible video you posted said he is about the cash which in my mind means the hustle.
This is the image that has destroyed our game. If he had said he just loved the game or something to that affect then I would be on board with you.

Doesn't Floyd have an argument? After all, here in 2013 pool players want more cash, not more trophies. So, is Floyd wrong?
I see I haven't missed much. Everyone still disagrees with you and you still think Floyd is awesome.
I finished work and got to watch the video chris made, I shook my head and turned it off I thought it was a video with Jimmy playing, The original video of Jimmy is the one I had seen before which I thought he showed little respect for the game and showed all he cares about is making CASH this isnt the type of person I consider an ambassador. Why would you want to show this to any new player its a foolish video that doesnt teach anyone anything.

Have you tried approaching your local APA league operator and convince him/her of your idea to be included in a new player orientation?
What I got from that video is all he cares about is making money hustling people. There's no doubt he was a great player but an ambassador for pool? I'm not so sure about that. I didn't learn anything pool related at all from watching that video so I fail to see how it would help anyone.
If you're a World Champion sleeping in the street or a former World Champion sleeping in the street, you're still a World Champion or a former World Champion. They Can't take that accomplishment away from you.
Money is here today & gone tommorrow & one may be sleeping in the street with no designation of World Champion.
Id' rather be a World Champion sleeping in the street than a who knows him sleeping under a pool table.:wink:

I think the less we know about him, the better off we all will be:thumbup:.
Here are the facts so far:
- He sleeps under pool tables because he seeks attention and is obviously broke.
- He loves Jimmy Mataya (a degenerate gambling loud-mouth).
- He loves "The Fireball" (a con man and a-hole).
- He has nearly 1000 posts in less than three months.
- He sucks.
What more could we possibly learn about this upstanding citizen?
