How About An AZB "Undercard" Match For A TAR Match?

Aw ... c'mon....

im not gonna name names but we have all read endless threads by guys claiming to play great, put them selves thru college at pool, every table is to easy, explain their systems, how much gamble and heart they got,if they practiced more could be pro,14.1 is easy, 9ball is easy, onehole is easy ,snooker is harder, theres no money in pool if there was they would turn pro, only like 4 inch pockets, they name pros and say they are overated, mention every pro dogs it,say they know as much or more then pros just dont shoot as straight, etc etc etc etc.
i think u get the point ,some posters say one if not many of these type things.
i would luv for once for these self proclaimed know it all champions with so much heart,
gamble and knowledge to get up on tar for 5000 on 4 inch pockets against someone just as good as them and watch them turn the rails more black and blue then ike turners wife lol.
i promise then instead of running their mouth on a keyboard how great they play and how much they know we could all watch for 8-10 hours and collectively call bullshit the next time they try to sound like a know it all.
i would pay 500 if justin could get my top ten list of people on here who fit this description to play a 10man ringame for a week straight.some guys in my topten list play sporty but they talk like they can play svb even, its nauseating to read.
lol
again i didnt name names but believe we all know these 10 would never get up and play anyway so its not worth discussing.
instead for the next million years on here we all have to read how everybody runs out and knows everything.
what im saying does not apply to 99.99 percent on here but theres about 10 jackass wannabees that i would donate 500 to charity for the chance to expose them to azb what they actually play like and how little they actually know.
this would inject way more civilty and humbleness in this forum as these guys would be a little more respectful but we all know this is a pipedream.

for the record i think tar and justin is great for pool and justin does a tough job very well.its not easy trying to put out a product that makes everybody happy.
im sure he gets tired of all the people saying tar would be great if u did this and that etc.trust me his job is tough and hes good at it.

I mean.... I cudda, I really cudda..... I mighta cudda, I really mighta cudda.... I mean maybe I mighta cudda.... I really think that maybe I mighta cudda, I mean there's a chance I mighta cudda.......
CRASH........ ouch ............. all my illusions just shattered.... dang you....
now I have to clean up this mess, and what a mess you have created!! ;)

I dunno about Lou, but JB/John Barton is just an average amateur hack. Not a high level amateur like he likes to portray.

Then again, I've only seen JB play one match and I persoanlly played him a race to 7, another time (unless he got A LOT better in the last 5-6 years).

Eric >doubts it

Absoluty right. In fact you are being very generous by raising me to hack status. I am lucky if I can hit the cueball.

Maybe someday I will let you spot me and you can show me how the game is played. I have been amazed by your domination of pool in the northeast for years. Everyone who plays pool along the east coast knows to steer clear of you if they don't want to get beat on.

If this goes off. I will side bet $100 a game on Lou.

Who would not want to bet on Lou
? I have almost zero chance. You saw the Eric Hu rates me as a hack. It's true. I just want to donate to Lou with some tiny chance to win a game or two.

But, if you want to up your end and lay 3-1 one I will be happy to give you some side action. I wish I was able to bet more with you but it is a foolish game for me to play Lou at all.

Hey Cory, how ya been? That was a memorable match. You must be a one pocket player, you locked me up TIGHT (in the rack) a couple of times. Good match for two amateur hacks, lol.

This post is an old offer from JB Cases/Barton:

I suppose i was just wondering out loud, if it was still an offer?

Eric

As I told you if your attitude has improved then I might allow you to have a chance to win my money. If not then we won't play. You blew it last time and the future is dependent on how I feel about you.
So far I am not impressed but I have a basic faith that most people can change for the better.

However if you want to make it all about businesses then we can certainly discuss what spot a great player like yourself should give to a hack like me to make it competitive between us. Have your people contact my people.

Well, nobody will ever accuse cleary of being a nut-hugger.

And nobody can say Eric is vague about how he rates someone's game.
I imagine JB will make some sort of offer.

Yes Eric is always ready to rate people's ability. He even goes so far as to cost himself money by letting prospective opponents know that they have no chance to win. A very admirable trait indeed. A lot of players would allow the sucker to trap himself but not Eric Hu. He will take no action without first making sure that the opponent knows that that the opponent's game sucks. I find that to be highly honorable.

Dam John, ain't you on a roll here? Workin it like 3rd and Broadway! ;)

Hey, since so many seem to be ducking you, if all else fails, I'd match up with you for a little something something on the light. And if Justin decries extra punitive damages? Well, so shall it be written!

Eric >doubts it

Also Eric, just to be very clear and make sure the record is correct, I have never portrayed myself as a high level amateur player. Having lived in Germany where they have leagues with clearly defined levels of status from city level all the way up to national level (Ralf Souquet's level) I have a very clear understanding of my own skill in comparison to others.

You are the one who took offense to me telling my stories of gambling which are all true. You are the one who started in on me out of the blue for no other reason than to call me a liar.

Others have backed up my stories but that is not enough for you to apologize or say you were wrong. Me telling my gambling stories seems to offend you but I don't know why. One does not have to be a good player to gamble at pool. I have been lucky enough to play for money all over the world and had a great time doing it. Not a lot of money but enough to make me feel it. Enough for a hack like me to get his heart pumping. I feel bad for you or anyone else who plays pool for money if you haven't had some of the wonderful experiences I have. For a hack I feel that I have gambled plenty of times and showed a lot of heart during my 25+ years of playing.

No where in all of that did I ever claim to be a high level player. In fact I have said on this forum many times that if I didn't know my place before (which I did) seeing the level of skill here definitely let's me know where I stand.

So lets be 100% honest here and let the readers know that it's YOU who have said I portray myself to be a high level player. I have certainly NOT done so.

No. We settled it here where I told you the same thing in person that I told you on the forum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qD4dfH-wMM

But, as I said, if your attitude is better then I might give you a second chance. We will see how things go.

Also, congratulations on getting a second appearance on PBS. You are obviously a rising star in your industry which only goes to show that a person can be world class at many things. I have made a playlist on YouTube to be able to follow your fascinating career. I hope you become the next Warren Buffett. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSKV5CK_fziU9QPWrEkieJ6v4LhbxlvFP If I ever have any money to invest I will be certain to look up your advice on PBS before making a move. Need all the qualified advice one can get in these trying times.

:-) I am always willing to throw a couple hundred at anybody I don't know just to see what happens. I gotta be honest though, when I said stink up the TAR table I mean make it unfit to play on. I don't think anyone needs to see such awful playing to remind them that it exists.

As Smitty said the rails would be black and blue from abuse. I think we should get back to the subject of amateur matches that have a realistic chance of happening on TAR because I do find that to be a good idea.

I just hope that the participants realize that they will have to fade some brutal rail chatter and that it's likely that their match will be preserved on YouTube forever or at least as long as the matrix exists.

Seriously, who gives a damn what you think? You're a great pool player. Good job! You've invested your life into being good at something that made you $16,900 (in tournaments) lat year. I would bet the people on your list have real jobs, make real money and wouldn't trade that to play good like you.

I've got no beef with you and think you're a great guy, but dude, it's the internet. Who cares...

When it comes to pool I give a damn what John thinks. That's just me. And I think we both know that deep down a LOT of people would like to have John's life instead of their own. I believe a lot of people like to imagine themselves being able to play at that level. Or I could just be the only one but experience has taught me that I am rarely the only person who feels the way I feel on a planet with 7 billion other people.

I do disagree with John about FB being more civil. It's not but you get to edit your experience there by cutting out the jerks. And typically people who follow you are people who respect you and vice versa. So that cuts down on the negativity.

Here it's up to the mods how long they will allow someone to get flamed before stepping in. On FB you can delete someone in an instant. Also the tone on FB is different. It's more about personal experiences in the moment rather than speculation in my opinion. Here it's more about what-ifs and I get it that it can be upsetting to see someone say that they could have been a contender if-only they had had the time to put in. But I happen to believe that if I person puts in the time, really puts it in then they can't help but to get good at whatever they are putting time into.

But anyway, why are you so grumpy, it's the internet, where opinions build server farms. Just think the more you write the more you contribute to the world economy as someone has to build and maintain the equipment to keep your opinion accessible for eternity.......

I can't speak for TAR, but perhaps the intent of this TAR Donkey Undercard is for AZBers to watch a couple of its own - that we endure regularly on AZB - play for @ an hour. The TAR chatter and the jabs would go on before, during and after for weeks or months on end. Most people here IMO could relate to and enjoy a short race that might emulate themself before the feature match. It's a little appetizer and all in good fun.

I know you can play some John - you're underselling!! I can play a decent bit as well (strong B?). But I don't have illusions of a 7 and out on anyone, lol. And you're right, the sphincter muscle might be a hair tight under the TAR light.

Whomever Justin might choose, I'd think would be someone controversial on AZ, and/or popular, that can shoot a bit, and has a personality that will create an AZ sh1t stir - and importantly someone who can dish it AND take it. And someone he can count on for that.

It should be an exhilarating, privileged experience to be chosen.

I just want to know what kind of optic is on JCIN's AR?

Also, how has he managed to ward off the psychological demons of gun ownership and not go on a spree considering he's in such close proximity to an "evil assault type weapon"?

More and more I'm liking this under-card idea.
Justin....can we call it...

TAR WARS!!!!

Let the woofin' begin

Well......I know one thing, IF I got into a match on the TAR table then I'd probably be jawing more than playing. Unless of course there was a stipulation to not talk in which case I MIGHT have a small chance to play decent.

But the possibility of anyone seeing me play on TAR is very very very remote.

That said however the idea is SOLID. And it would definitely be cool to get some of the "grudge" matches on video. I think it would be fun to settle some differences on the table even if we all know that won't really stop the bickering. At least one side or the other would always be able to play the "well at least I beat you" card. :-)

Well hells bells JB...

OK, I have another idea.

HINT. His first name rhymes with J. I've been trying to lock horns with that slick talking elusive SOB since he slinked away from his living room Diamond table and left me (granted he was in the midst of filling orders for his awesome release of Pool Wars) to solo battle the Empress Ming years ago.

Yes, hard to fade it when someone is right. Again though I would like to extend my deepest thanks to you for gracing us with your presence. For you to take time out of your busy life as the up and coming star of the financial planning world is amazingly generous of you.

Every time I see these clips https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSKV5CK_fziU9QPWrEkieJ6v4LhbxlvFP

I am just amazed again at the depth of knowledge and high-powered people we have on AZB. Not only are you a world class player but you are a Wall Street power-broker and as down-to-earth as Warren Buffet.

I am sure you will parlay that little Jersey office into a hundred billion dollar conglomerate soon. Just remember pool when you are a billionaire.

Anyone wanting to invest please do not hesitate to look up Gryphgon Asset Management www.gryphonasset.com/ "Making it Happen".
