cheapo cue lathe

Hey all. I didn't want to ask this specifically in the cue maker forum because what I'm wondering about is probably laughable to those fellows.

I already have one of those American Cowboy / sharpshooter billiards, drill adapter lathes. It works remarkably well for tip replacements and believe it or not, I even re-tenoned a shaft that had broken using a makeshift rest and wood chisel. LOL, it worked.

But now I'm wondering, if anyone knows of a cheapo lathe that would be good enough to let you re wrap a cue. I might do 3 in a year, I like to play with this kind of thing, but really can't justify buying anything expensive.

Great question - I just need something for the occasional tip or cleaning. I am wondering too - I read a little about the Shaftmaster - but mostly bad comments there...

Google mid-america lathe it should pull up his site. I have one of his lathes in my shop. Todd is good people to deal with.
