The perfect table could be bad

i have a gc2 that has double shimmed pockets
2 corner pockets jaw the ball alot if not hit perfect
ive been adviced to send the rails to mark to get perfect playing rails and pockets
ive had a few pros tell me
most places you play at wont have perfectly made rails/pockets
so get used to "adjusting"

Wrong answer, it's better to know how a perfect table plays first, then you'll know how much to adjust to a screwed up table. But it don't work the other way around, if all you know is how to play on a screwed up table, you'll never get it right on a perfect table

Real king cobra has it right. I have a really beat to hell table in the rec room at the apartment complex I live at. The bumpers sag, the felt is barely hanging on and the pockets are junk. I figured when I first got back into pool it would be ok to play on the worst table possible so I could play on anything. Once I got onto well kept tables in pool halls, there was a night and day difference in feel but had a hard time adjusting back to a good table. I would rather pay to play than play on something that doesn't play right. Once we move I'm getting the table in storage out, set up, reclothed, new pockets (shimmed to pro size) and many hours of play.

Once league night comes around I figure I'll be better shooting at buckets if I'm used to pocketing to precision

Second the opinions.

I have played on several gold crowns with shimmed pockets, and have come to this conclusion I would rather miss a ball because I hit it bad than miss a ball because the the guy setting up the table thought he knew what he was doing!

Shimmed pockets will jaw more balls hit good than pockets with the subrail extended and good facings installed period.
