Do any of you all ever face anyone that just "has your number"?
You've beat better players, more experienced players, and so on, but whenever you face this person, in a tournament, on league night, or for any other occasion you just can't find a solution to them. You might win a game or two, maybe even get to the hill, but you just can't get out. After a few match ups I feel like it becomes more mental than anything else. Any thoughts on how to work through this? anyone...? anyone...? (Bueller...? Bueller...?)

I remember this "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.".

play the table..give up control sooner..meaning even if you have a few shoots before you need play safe, or manage the table..do it sooner..stop doing the same thing against that person..if you know what a few of their issues are ; use it against them
sooner then you do..but its my guess , their doing this to you. I do this to a good friend
of mine all the time..He getting better at knowing when I'm doing it..just can't beat me at the game yet..He play well..just doesn't take control when he should..
keep it smooth..

There's a woman at our poolhall (last name of Laxson) that makes more unintended balls than you can shake a stick at. I have resorted to calling her "Lucky Laxson". It ain't so bad, except when she continuously does it, she struts around the table like it was "supposed" to happen. I'll be honest with you, I don't really ever want to play her. I've beaten her 2 out of the 3 times I've played her, but it just frustrates the hell out of me how she can slam balls with no intention of position play, miss the intended shot, slop in a ball and STILL get position on the next ball. I'd pull my hair out if I had any !!!

I don't know what to tell you as far as working through it. Keep plugging away and eventually you'll get over that hump.

OTOH, there ARE some that I have THEIR number, so I guess it all evens out.

Shoot well, my friend!!!

Having heard similar comments thrown my way. It's like women are the only ones that make a slop. I bet you're not playing 10 ball with women for fear of really being embarrassed.
