I was just viewing the site for the SBE. It says that it will not cost anything extra to watch any of the pro events. Your daily pass will get you in. The very nice of Allen. He is taking a big financial hit with this.
I always enjoyed the vip seating. It was comfortable and reasonably priced. I think it will get crowed fast if it is free.

I hardly believe that giving up $5000 (estimated) a day on the pro-area seating is going to be a big hit. Still, it definitely makes those events more accessible.

Too accessible.... won't be easy to find a seat now. I'd prefer a nominal $10 to keep out the riff-raff and cheapskates.

Kaz,

If you factor in the costs of creating the "pro" arena, the hourly wages for those who "man" the door, cost of printing tickets and the persons "selling" them, the cost of putting those people up at a hotel, the set up and tear down of an enclosed arena area, it might save Allen money to give free admission. Cost to set up the Pro tables and lighting is the same. The CSI / BCAPL is doing the same thing for their July National event in Vegas. Free entry to the Pro event area.

agree here...

geo I agree. I would pay for vip seats to avoid the overcrowding that is sure to take place.

cty, No. There will be no charge. I talked to someone the other day who came into the pool hall to bring in flyers. He said the cost outweighs to income. He said it was always a losing proposition.
This is just another example of why pay outs are so poor. Friday and Saturday nights usually sell out. But the rest of the time the room is barely half full. I usually go into the room at least twice. I have never attended the finals so I could get home. Since this year the expo is only 20 minutes from my home I wanted to attend. I just don't do not want to fight the crowds that I believe will exist this year.

Unless your playing in one of the events it will cost you $15.00 to
get in the show. The pro events are free but they raised the entry from $10 to $15, Great deal but im concerned about first come first served seating.

Anybody know what the daily admission fee for the expo is or if you can buy a pass for the 4 day event?
I plan on being there Thursday through Sunday, just wondering.
Thanks Jeff

POOLDAWG8 I believe it is $15 per day and if you are going 4 days anyway for $75 you can enter a tournament and get free entry everyday and have a shot a some cash IMO

Appreciate the info. I thought in years past that they offered a discount for the weekend if you were going to attend more then 1 day. Anybody know if there gonna do that this year? Thanks for the help
Jeff

The JB Cases booth will also be free admission. Although you might end up purchasing an heirloom from the gift shop. :-)

John,

Are you bringing any Butterfly style cases to SBE? Interested in a 2x4 or 3x6. Thanks.

Lyn

I will try. One thing I will advise is that if you really want one then go ahead and order it for delivery at the SBE. I can tell you that my stock will be limited and my experience is that what is not reserved does does not last long.

I agree it's to accessible...but I would say in any pool event taking a 15 thousand dollar hit is a big deal lol It's not like he's making a ton of money on these events. In fact he lost money for years.

john are you bringing any of the mason cases. I might pull the trigger on one of those . A very cool and unique design .It would be tough deciding between that and my justice case on a daily basis lol

Agree

I agree.I don't know the cost of this site compared to Valley Forge, but if it is the same or near the same the extra $5 per head will bring in more $s then charging admission to the Pro event. The down side is the fans who always paid in the past because they wanted to be in the arena and watch pool, will now be competing for a seat with people who are in there to just find a seat and rest or pass time.Still in these hard times to see live Pool it is far better then nothing.

Sub contract maybe?

I think it's great that I can take a kid into the pro arena for free to show him what pool is really like.
If he don't like it or gets bored we leave thats all.
But I think everybody should be made to leave after a match
or after a time period or people will camp out in the seat.

Allen are you reading this?

A kid in the pro arena? Please tell me there's a minimum age for entry!
