One place like that was in Boul. des Capucines roughly where Starbucks is now. It had maybe 20 tables (all carom) and was on the 2nd or 3rd floor (1st or 2nd in the French style). It had a number of characters like those pictured above but somewhat higher class as befitted the neighborhood near the Opera. In 1972 they had a one-beverage minimum (which I didn't understand at first). When each new regular came in, he would go around and shake hands with all the other regulars. It may have been gone by 1984.Awesome pictures, Bob. Thanks. I really love the ivory billiard balls.
I was at one pool room in Paris many years ago and I have no idea what the name was so wondering if you could help. I think it was on one of the finger streets off of the Arc de Triomphe. It was a 2 or 3 story building that had billiard tables on the second floor if I recall. Any thoughts? (Diane lost patience with me playing after about 1/2 hour and made some comment about being in Paris).
