First Break in Sterling had another great turnout last week with over 20 players. It was good to finally meet Andrew Manning. Thanks for the warm-up! I'll be heading there tomorrow and trying to win at least 2 matches this time!

I'll be heading over there tonight again as well, and LOOKING FOR REVENGE.

Just kidding, what I really mean is I'll be looking to buy a round of beers, as I didn't catch back up with you after that first round and thus it's still my turn.

Hello - I'm a relatively new DC resident looking for a list of the best rooms and tournaments in the greater DC area. I generally play at Bedrock Billiards in Adams Morgan (DC) but am willing to travel for the right games, tables, and tournaments.

Magic 8 Ball has tournements Mondays 9 ball, thursdays 8 ball, and sundays 10 ball. 9ft tables

The New Greenroom has tournements 9ball & 8ball for APA members on fridays. You have to show proof of your APA skill level for 8ball SL5 or below. Bar tables.

I used to go almost on a weekly basis until recently bc I am working on my new home. But will get back on it in a month or so when I find more spare time. Hopefully they will still be around!

We should update the first post with all this info to avoid having to look every post and to avoid having the sameones posted!

OK, good suggestion. I've updated the first post with all data. Still think it is good to check the thread, poolrooms, tournament directors for changes. --Steve

A Big Thank You to everyone who came out to support this Tournament, Hope many more Tournaments to come.

A local Fernando Took 1st Place after a tight and nerve racking Finals against Kevin Huck who narrowly took it all down.

Fernando also Pulled for the Big Rack but unfortunatley came up a little short. Maybe Next Time Fernando.

Hope to See everyone There!!

Original Post:
JAM used to post great writeups of the weekly tournament scene and I miss being able to find all that information for the DC area. With the closing of several pool rooms in the area, I've lost track of the current tournaments.

Please post in this thread any tournaments in the area you know of. Please include the normal details (location, game, races, entry fee, start time, typical size of field, etc.). Thanks!
--Steve

I've made a few updates, but not sure if all the tournaments are still going or if the rooms are still open. Always best to call the pool room to double check.

The ones I go to most regularly are the First Break tournaments in Sterling, Virginia on Thursday nights and the Champions in Frederick on every other Saturday.

I also heard there is a Saturday tournament at Triple Nines in Elkridge Maryland….I'll add the details when I find out.
