Break or Jump/Break Cue

I am just looking for a lot of opinions on a few break and or jump break cues. I have had a few different ones, ie: mcdermott stinger, action, j&j and so on. but I've come to the conclusion I do not like Phenolic tips. I am looking for ideas on break cues that have leather tips or ones that feel well with leather tips. I was looking at the OB break and the Impakt and Icebreaker 2 made by Tiger. I wouldn't mind a tip bigger then 13mm or even less. I'm open to hearing about custom cues as long as they arent extremely expensive. Thank you all for opinions

Have you tried a samsara break tip on any of the cues you have tried? If not get one put on one of the cues you have already and save yourself the money. Would cost $20-$30 at your local billiards shop. It makes a big difference

I do like the samsara tip. Hardest leather I have come across, but all jump breaks are gone right now using an older mcdermott right now.

Action makes a nice break jump with a rubber gripped handle and a hard leather tip, sells for $145 shipped
Pechauer also makes a nice break cue with a forward balance and a leather tip $270

Just get a Mezz PB. It is so over everything else there is not even funny. Expensive ? Yes..... But it holds equity better and you can always sell it if you ever desire to upgrade to something else.

Pm me if interested

Just my 2 cents

Before it broke in an accident I had a TNT break cue I bought from "poofool1975" all purpleheart stained black with a samsara tip. It broke racks better than anything I had ever tried which was quite a lot(BK2, PB1, McDermott Stinger, Cuetec, Longoni Hurricane)...

Any of you tried ob break or tigers break and jump break?

if you decide on an ob, i have one

+1 for Mezz break or jump/break

I just got rid of my Mezz Dual Force ((J/B) to obtain another players cue. Sad to see it go. :frown: I couldn't agree more that racks and people shiver after you launch it. Agreed that it holds it's value.

Thank you all for input and yeah I've tried the mezz which is phenomenal! But I'm really only gonna fork out around 300 for one so hopefully this time next year I will have a custom set. Gilbert or Lomax is what ill be looking at. Is Ned Morris on AZ ? His cues in that pic look amazing. For those with the ob on this post how did it break from the second ball in an 8 ball ?

The best two break cues I have used are a Pat Diveney or a Denali break. Both are incredible break cues but I would give the edge to the Denali. Both can be obtained around or under your limit.

does anyone had ned morris' name on here? Here's what im going to be doing. Ordering from a cuestix dealer and so I will be getting their discounts, around $300 is what ill have. What break or jump/ break would you buy? Thread pattern isnt a priority but the tip is the issue. What tip would you recommend. I break from the side of table into the second ball in an 8 ball rack. I would appreciate all information and preferences.

I'll recommend leather hard tip. Today I ordered a Meucci cue, for great price, that will be my next break cue, 18.50 oz.

Good luck in your purchase.
