Pro's and the Break.

I don't think the list would change. The top ten would just win more matches than they do already.
I guess that's about the same as who runs out the best. Well, shane does that too. But forgetting him for a second -
Efren only needing to run 7 balls after the break? I don't care if they're all in 2 giant clusters and stuck to the rail, he'll find a way.
Corey also, he can move the cue ball anywhere but is constantly experimenting with the ten ball break because apparently he just can't or won't do what shane does. In one tournament he broke entirely with the bridge. In another he tried a soft break.
Alex with shane's break would be higher up I believe.
Thorsten, once he's in line, never seems to get out of line and shoots unholy straight.
Gotta wonder how John Schmidt would be with that break, he plays some strong pool as rarely as he shoots.

As brilliant a strategist as Corey is, sometimes he needs to get out of his own way. Shane has already solved the 10-ball break. Corey would be more successful if he copied Shane rather than trying to come up with a unique Coreyish solution.
Every once in awhile I here people talk about Efren's break.Does he just not hit,em as hard as some of the other guys?
IMHO Efren got the reputation as a weak breaker back in the 9-ball days when the theory was smash-'em-as-hard-as-you-can; see Bustamonte; the speed wars.
But in nearly all the youtube video matches I've seen of Efren in his prime, his break was fine for making balls and getting position. Not as hard as others, but it worked.
I've watch a lot of Efren also and thought his break was fine.I guess at that level not making one here and there means a lot.

I dont drink, but I like your line up!! I still dont think theres anybody that got to like Busta's game. I hear that Dennis has beat him the last two times they played, but thats been a year or more ago, I think.
I would like to see them play now, Busta has picked his game up. I think playing more Banks and One Pocket has improved his over all play, wow, think about that, Busta playing better..,

5's good.I like your list with one exception ,Efren in his better years would be on top.I know he still plays great but in his prime he's at the top of my list.
Today, he's missing too much. If we're talking about players in their better days, I've got a whole different list chockablock full of Hall of Famers.
