Another bump.

Memorial Day Weekend?

I know everyone says they are "busy" that weekend but most people just sit around and watch TV...or eat too much...:)

So come on out and play some pool on Saturday in this one-day event.

PayPal Deadline is this Friday!

Bump

Hello everyone,
You really should get out to this event! Trust me when I say that the owners of VIP Billiards are 100% dedicated to you (the players) and I have heard nothing but great things about the way Curtis runs his tournaments. Sign up today!!!

PayPal Deadline is today!

Not many have signed up yet...waiting until the last minute as usual...:)

This Friday was the deadline for early online payments.

Drop off your entries at the room if you'd like, or take your chances on game day.

Prepay

It's a shame because it makes it so much easier on the tournament director if folks prepay, but I gave up trying to get folks to prepay a while ago. My last attempt was the Finleys Finale and I had like 8prepays. I actually think it takes away from attendance since folks don't want to prepay and also don't want to take the chance on getting left out.

I added 800 and was giving the money back to the top 16 and I STILL couldn't get people to prepay....ridiculous :)

Having said all that.... Yeah I'll take my chances on the day of.... Lol

If players don't make the cut a few times, maybe they will start prepaying.
Sadly, most pool players don't know what they're doing until the morning of an event...and even that is a long shot.

I love when some people complain about getting too many emails about an event, but ask me questions anyway that could have been answered if they took the 3 minutes to read the flyer...:)

Results!

We had a decent turnout of 27 players despite the holiday weekend. Play started at approximately 11:30 AM and wrapped up at 9:30 PM. The earlier start time really paid off as we were able to beat the Rock 'N' Pool deadline! The usual suspects were present, including Brett Stottlemyer, Tom Zippler, Andy Lincoln, Kevin West, Alan Duty and Shaun Wilkie. Tournament newcomer Jeff Crawford took the field by storm and walked away undefeated with an impressive first place finish. Shaun Wilkie had to beat him twice in the finals, and did win the first set, but Jeff reminded Shaun why he was in the Hot Seat in the first place and won the second set easily, capitalizing on one or two simple mistakes.

Tournament favorite Brett Stottlemyer had to settle for fourth place this month, falling to Kevin West, who had a strong day as well, losing first to Jeff Crawford, then finally being eliminated by Shaun Wilkie for third place.

Dave Hennessy , another newcomer to the tournament, had a solid run to fifth place. We expect to see a lot more of him, with higher finishes as well.

Here are the results:

  1. Jeff Crawford: $400
  2. Shaun Wilkie: $220
  3. Kevin West: $140
  4. Brett Stottlemyer: $100
  5. Dave Hennessy: $60
  6. Alan Duty: $60
  7. Guy Yayes: $50
  8. Marlon Alcaraz: $50

Thanks to all who continue to support the monthly events at VIP Billiards. One cannot ask for more supportive and accommodating owners like Steve and Jessica Didier, along with a friendly and courteous staff.

The next event will be on Saturday June 22nd., 2013.

Don't miss it!

Nice tournament, Curtis (despite my lousy performance...again). Thanks for running things so smoothly and preparing the quick writeup!
