jj america cues shaft

just curious if anyone has ever used one of the aftermarket cue shafts from jj cues...$28.00 seems like you can't go wrong?
 
Years ago I had a small cue shop in a local pool room. I sold several brands of cues, but JJ cues was what I sold the most. For the price they were hard to beat. I usually changed the tip before I sold them,they came with a very hard tip. But once the tip was changed they played surprisingly well!

I do not have experience with the aftermarket shafts, but I would assume they would be the same. For $28 its hard to go wrong.
 
The only thing I don't like is the shaft taper (euro @ 13mm). I like the tip. It's just right, for me. I'm not a tip snob though.
 
i sold alot of j&j stuff... the $28 shaft is junk.. they have one thats like $50.. thats alot better....

just think about it this way.. you get what you pay for..

I wouldn't pay more than 50 bucks for my shafts, I'll tell you that. For me, the tip and taper suck on these type shafts. Big deal, change both with sandpaper, a drill, a razor knife, and glue.

All shafts deflect and you have to adjust regardless. Go for it I say.

If you get a straight one with a nice wood grain, it should be fine! Some batches are better than others.
