Cheating at pool...

I used to play the local thief(lol i love that line) 9 ball, he was a solid A player, this was back in 90-91, i was a B player. He would only give me the 7 playing old school loser racks 9-ball, back when things were simple, no break cues etc.
anyways the 7 was a real tough game for me with this guy, We would lock horns once a month or there abouts there was lots of action around then. I was on the shorts back then and had to figure out how to beat him, So by accident one time playing him i called a foul-a bad hit on a shot, he tilted out. I was wrong about the hit, i saw it out of the corner of my eye, but because he was the local thief i still argued it before i gave him BIH. GIN!!!
He couldnt make a ball he was so tilted. he missed BIH, So I decided next time we played to call a bad hit when it was close-but not a bad hit just to get him tilted again. Worked like magic, now i'm robbing him with the 7 ball. every time we played after that, i pulled that move-he wasnt to bright. funny he never caught on. He never beat me again, i beat him probably 6-8 more times with that move. Was that cheating? I thought it was creative.

Not cheating. Sharking, yes, but not cheating.
LOL I couldnt stand the guy, 90% of the time and 10% he was ok with me. He would put together a corporation and get $100 or so to play, It worked so well, I just couldnt help myself.:wink: I'd just sit there after he would tilt out and win the session, I had to use the move at the right time. How he never caught on is beyond me, I would always let him win the argument and i'd win the pool game. worked out for both of us I suppose, he rarely bet any or much of his own, he had lots of kids that would pool their $$ to play me, most we ever bet was $100/set. Usually $50/sets.
:rotflmao1: Put together a corporation. LOVE IT!! Heard of holding a fund raiser, but never putting together a corporation.
I used to have a stake horse, but I fired his ass when he ran out of money!!

Trying to skim a ball soft and miss it saying you had a good hit. Commmenting on every shot. Asking what pocket is mine. Shooting a ball out of turn. Listining to a player tell you that you talk but it is while you are shooting.

yeah thats what we called it "Corporation's" there was another group the "Chinese Connection" that was a few kids that would come bet it up, they had gamble and were their own corporation. it was fun, i remember playing a guy $5-$10/rack snooker and having another $100-$300 bet on the side a game. the guy im playing is betting $10, I got $300 bet, thats how i got used to action, i'd just press it up on the rail.
There is a way you can bank a ball on certain shots and then use your stick/shaft to guide the ball into the pocket. Your opponent has to be sitting behind you. I saw it demonstrated one time by Johnny B. He said Robb Saez caught him at it once. Never did ask Robb but i will.

Double hitting the cue ball, and then swearing up and down you didn't do it. That really grinds my grits because it occasionally happens playing One Pocket.
