I just learned of Japan Simonis Cloth. Cost to cover a 9' table is only about $16.00 US dollars here in the Philippines. Very low price. Do any of you have any information about this cloth? Please give me any information on this cloth you can. Many thanks.

I dont know much about anything - but one of the few things I do know is that if it sounds too good to be true.... u know the rest.

Cheers.

Never heard of it... At that price, I doubt it comes from Japan because 16 bucks can barely buy you a piece of chalk over here.

Cloth

No way' simonis is premium cloth made from premium wool.
I assume its a cloth that says somewhere on the bag simonis but its not simonis in the bag.
Under $20 US dollars for 9' cloth set.. I'll try it for that price! Get ahold of em for me and tell them to ship it by the bolt!
ASAP!

It's 100% NOT from Simonis for sure. A lot of no name cloth makers like to use the Simonis logo when they are not in any way affiliated with Simonis.

The best Chinese and Taiwanese cloth that is similar to Simonis generally sells retail over here for $80-$120 for a 9ft table, pre-cut.

Counterfeit crap out of China. There is one manufacturer named Takini that actually puts the Simonis logo on their bags and says this is because they also sell Simonis and they put both cloths in the same bag. Thieves can always come up with an excuse for their theft.

Takini is from Korea I think.

Just for the record not all the cloth in China is counterfeit crap. There are many cloth companies here and a few of them have pretty good cloth. They do not market themselves with any unauthorized logos at all.

Sorry, John, we are conditioned to think of China as the land that loves counterfeiters. But I reasoned form the general to the particular "The English do not care for sunshine so John the Englishmen must hate the sun" and I know that is fallacious reasoning.

It took 40-50 years for Japan to lose its reputation as "cheap" and "low quality".

It's going to take China a 100 years.

Pretty sure it's not the real deal as everything in Japan is going to be more expensive than international counterparts. As a matter of fact, I used to work for an organization in Japan that took great pride in their ability to copy Brunswick tables, Simonis, Gina's, SW, Cogs, ect. You name it, these guys could provide it. Please understand that this organization didn't produce these products, they only sold them.
As a general rule, in Japan, you will never find anything pool related for a better price than elsewhere. It's cheaper to buy anything from a place like Seyberts with international shipping than it is to buy in Japan.
