Value on this Predator cue?

Easy fix.

Might be worth 100-200 depending on who buys it and if they do the work or you pay to have it done.

What would I do to get it fixed? Its a damaged thread on the shaft. How much would you think it would cost to repair it?

Show a photo of the pin, if its uniloc the pilot just might be too long. (Looks long)

If you're planning to use it, might be worth a fix. Best to contact a local cue maker.

Is the pilot the part of the joint sticking out on the butt end, or the receiver portion on the shaft end? I know the section on the butt of the cue is actually a predator original from the stamp on it. I'll post a picture anyway

In other words the shaft is not the original. That would make since. I believe this one should have come with the 314 shaft. So I either need a new shaft or can the joint me changed or altered to fit?

The pilot could be too long or it could be the completely wrong pin.

Cue maker, see one.

The original shaft would likely have been a 314 (Cat), or a 314-2

Or a Z or Z2. I play with the cue he has, albeit mine has a sliver ring on the collar, whereas his is solid black, as it should be. Point is, Predator shafts are entirely interchangeable.

Whatever the cause, the shaft is no good. Needs to go to see Dr CM sharpish.

Your insert has come un-bonded and is screwing itself out of the shaft.
Get it fixed before you do any damage.

Thats your basic Pred sneaky. Not overly expensive but a nice shooter just the same.

I would say your Pilot is too long is all. Take it in and have a new tip put on it and I bet that your repairman will take a bit off your pilot for nothing or a couple of extra bucks.

Oooops, just read KJs answer. Obviously and hence the hash marks on the insert perhaps. Maybe the last owner used a pair of pliers to twist the insert back in.

Still won't cost you an arm and leg to have that one glued in and the hash marks sanded a bit or the best fix would be a new insert.

It is a good cue. SEYBERTS does 1st class repair work. Contact them for details. They are easy to deal with...and a pleasure to deal with.

That's exactly what it is. Look at the insert. It has plier marks on it. Either someone has been trying to screw it back in or that shaft has been stuck on a cue before and someone used a pair of pliers to get it apart. I have seen uni-locks jam before. I don't know why they do it but they do.
