G10 pin *standard* 3/8-10 "V" groove thread

I posted this in the ask the cuemaker forum as well, but since I'm basically asking for a supply store, I imagine MANY here might know:

I just had an odd conversation in which a billiard supply place tried to tell me that I *did not have* a 3/8-10 standard "V" groove thread made out of G10. The weird part is that not only am I looking right at it, but I bought it from them.

So...my question is: where would a person purchase a replacement pin? Believe it or not, the threads on my pin crumbled apart. I need one ASAP.

They sent me an incorrect 3/8-10 pin with the flat minor diameter (.308")...the one that looks like a Southwest pin.

I do *NOT* want to modify all my shafts to fit this pin, and likewise believe that trying to die this one out might not work well either.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks,

Maybe if you post a pic more people would help you? Without that we would be guessing.

I did look and schmelke has a G-10 pin that is 3/8-10 and doesn't say it is the flat minor. Also Hightower lists his the same way. I have never used either so I'm guessing of what they are without calling them myself.

Did you check with Mike Webb? I don't think he works with the composite/plastic pins but he's probably the best guy in our area to talk to.

Thank you for the suggestions. Before I read your post, I had already tried Hightower, Schmelke, and one or two others. They all have only the flat minor version. (sounds like music lol).

This all started with Mike Webb. He built me an extension that goes in between the butt and the shaft. It works perfectly and I'm very happy with it. For obvious reasons, the pin in the extension must be the same thread as in the butt, which is an Andy Gilbert 3/8-10 standard pin (V groove). Mike is pretty certain that he purchased the *standard* G10 pin from Atlas, but they swear they don't have it, and never did.

After a LOT of looking around and calling around today, I will let Mike take a shot at running a die over this pin. Maybe it will destroy it, who knows?

If anyone else knows of a source, please let me know.

Thanks,
