I have a brand new 9' Diamond Pro-am that I am needing to level.

The thing is, the table plays level except for one area, down the right rail. You can't slow roll a ball down that rail or it will roll out away from the pocket about 1 whole ball. If I roll down the center of the table though the ball rolls straight.

Any ideas on what is causing this? I'm worried that I got a table with a bad slate.

Thanks,

Look at the cloth grain at the side pocket and corner pockets, to see if it's waved away from the pocket shelf. The grain of cloth will track the balls when it's new, until it gets broke in and smooths out the surface grain somewhat.

I'm not sure what you mean by waved away from the pocket. Are you asking about the direction the grooves in the cloth run? They run diagonally from left to right, top to bottom.

If you look at the grain of cloth on the bed of the table, running in line with the long rails, does it look straight or a little left and right as it's going down the length of the table. Look and see where the ball is rolling out. Does it roll out a little, then roll straight again? Does it weave a little left and right as it's rolling to a stop?

It is diagonal to the length of the table. From the head of the table it goes from left to right. Is the cloth suppose to be straight?

The roll is a consistant roll out.

I talked to Paul and he is going to walk me through a leveling process with a map of points to level but I'm still afraid the slate is the problem. We will see.
