Banking the Touch of Inside Pivot System (T.I.P.S.)

to me the banks you showed the inside english was necessary for the cue ball path desired in the 1st and second bank
both banks could have been made without inside english imho
i am only an amateur and not an instructor so i could be wrong
i dont understand what was so special about the way you shot it????
are you implying its the only wat to make the bank??
nice shots by the way:thumbup:

This is a proposition shot that has won road players a lot of money through the years. There's also variations of the shot that are equally impressive, however, this one builds the foundation for the others. Many players don't know the power of the TOI "Touch of Inside" to make unusual banks, cuts, - it opens up a whole new world in the game of one pocket.

By the way:

The proposition bet is to make the bank without touching the back rail with the cue ball.......and yes, I'm showing the only way you can do it. FYI

you are showing the only way to have the cue ball not touch the end rail
that doesnt answer the question that TOI is or is not the only way to make the bank

By "back rail", are you referring to the rail the one is against, or the rail at the end of the table you are shooting from?

to me he means the end ( short) rail below the object ball

That's what I thought he meant. But, I don't get the proposition then...he obviously hits the end rail with the cb, and it's impossible to bank that ball where he did without hitting the end rail.

retain cue ball control.

That's the only way to make the bank and retain cue ball control.

This is one of the toughest banks on the DVD

How does inside english make the cue ball shoot over to the long rail and miss the short rail?

I show it on the vide, it's all about alignment, then the more you move to the inside of the cue ball the more angle you create. The cue ball naturally goes on this path....you'll need to shoot it a few times to understand exactly what's happening.

This is one of the toughest banks on the DVD, I also show how to make many easier banks and how to create any angle using the TIP. This is useful in safeties and especially if you play the game of 'One Pocket'.
